This video came across my recommended page. I've had the dream to write and publish a book for a long time, but for a long time as well I told myself all these excuses to not even start the process. In actuality I was (and am) just scared to be rejected. Writing feels so personal to me, that I imagine that having your book rejected feels like someone stomps on your soul. The fact that you had the courage and perseverance after being rejected 3 times really inspires me! In the past I think I would have looked down on you, upholding my fantasy of writing a book in the future and it immediately being a bestseller. I was holding on to that ego part, because I was and am so scared to actually do it and be rejected. Now that I've started to write, I actually look up to you and see how you are further down the process that I've refused to go on because of my fear and ego. Because this is so touching to me at this stage in my life, I perceive you as very brave and inspiring. You've gained a subscriber! Good luck on your journey! Bookish folks will UNDERSTAND the need to protect our precious books at all costs 😅 (it honestly gives me horrendous anxiety whenever any of my books are at risk of being damaged. I cannot stand it when I’m travelling with a paperback and it starts curling around the edges 😫😅)
