Mossberg patriot night train 2015 REAL OWNER REVIEW

This video is to show my opinion of this rifle and how the Mossberg company and there customer service are horrible. Obviously there gun smiths are not qualified to do what they are paid to do and the Quality assurance team basically is non existant. I expected much much more for my money. I have no real certification in gun smithing but I can tell you that if I ran the Mossberg company or at l...

    It is what it is, as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. You shouldn't have to fix anything out of the box. I had the same experience with a Ruger 308 in absolute piece of crap stock but after some bolt work and a MDT chassis which cost more than the rifle my ugly duckling runs like a champ sub MOA all day long. Good luck getting your rig sorted out.

    I know this is an old video. The Mossberg Patriot and Predator rifles do better in a Boyd stock with aluminum pillar bedding, or chassis such as MDT or the daughter company Oryx, where the whole aluminum frame is bedding. This has to do with the rear action screw guide on the factory stock, which has a gap that they refuse to change. The mag well is used as a shim. I have communicated twice with Mossberg and they refused to change. I like Mossberg for the barreled actions. You simply need to assume that you will be transplanting to a Boyd's stock or to an MDT LSS Gen 2 or an Oryx. Still a Mossberg fan and I have the 590A1 SPX 12 ga smooth bore.

    I bought one of these in 308. First thing I did was to take JB Weld and fill in the area behind the plastic ribs for the recoil lug, I also took Blue Magic Quik Steel and used it as a bedding compound for the fore end of the stock. I didn't like the way it flexed. It seems rock solid, am going to the range next week.

    Hey bro, have you ever thought to try a Boyd stock for that rifle? Maybe look that up see what you think as it’s a replacement customized type stock for that rifle and other rifles as well I think they make a stock for just about any rifle but yeah, maybe try a Boyd stock replacement for that.

    No man your problem is your letting your barrel get hot and it will throw the bullets off your post to shoot 3 shots and let barrel cool

    I've had this rifle for 8 years and always shoot 3/4 to 1.5 inch groups. Mines the one with the muzzle brake. I've had great much out of mine. It's taken many deer out to 200 yards with off the shelf ammo. Once in a while u do get a bad rifle but 90% of the time it's operator error.

In .270 Win my question is ! With the laminate stock will I run into the same problem that you did or is just the synthetic has to have that ribbing to strengthen it if anyone can help answer I would really appreciate it Thanks again for your review

    I’ll agree with most points you made on this video, except your love for savage.... that brand of gun is trash I owned a 111 and a 110 and they both couldn’t group better than my 336. at 100 yards I was keeping a consistent 2 inch group. One bad shooting savage is a fluke two is the start of a pattern.

    • @jvaness22
      @jvaness22 5 років тому

      cinnreds18 i think most gun brands today are nothing close to their old versions. honestly i havent been impressed with many anymore. i think QA has gone out the window, i appreciate the agreement on most points im not really a savage lover i actually own non anymore , iv switched to a different route of gun and iv made decent groups also hitting steel out at 600yards so far with minimul effort. hope you have great holidayd brother.
