Introducing Marky Reader as George Harrison in 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐆𝐒.
Marky Joseph Reader is an actor, musician and presenter from Liverpool, he has had extensive experience in film and theatre and is known for his roles in; This Girl-The Cynthia Lennon story, The Moondogs, The End, The Phantom Lady.
Marky started his career in the performance industry from a very early age of 9 years old by playing alongside his father (Also Mark Reader) in the Liverpool rock band ‘Strider’. Marky is and always has been immensely interested in music. He even went on to study it in college (The City of Liverpool Arts Centre) in 2019 after leaving school. Despite Mark’s passion for music, he decided to pursue a career in the acting industry.
In 2021, he was spotted by BBC Radio Merseyside presenter ’Frankie Connor’ and was told to audition for a show called ‘THIS GIRL- The Cynthia Lennon story’ as John Lennon. Marky went to audition and bagged himself the role as Lennon, this is what kick started his professional acting career. Through the theatrical play, Marky has had the opportunity to perform in places such as; Camden Fringe Festival, Hope Street Theatre and The Valley Theatre. The play was also made into a film, giving him experience in film acting.
In 2022, Marky was cast in another theatre production called ‘The Moondogs’. Another Beatles related show that was performed in The Epstein Theatre and The Gladstone Theatre. What he especially loves about the show is the fact it includes live music, so he can show off his acting skills as well as his ability to perform in a band. He also continued that band outside of the show and went on to play shows and venues such as; Lancaster Grand Theatre, Live Aid Liverpool, The Cavern Club, The Waterloo festival and many more.
