I supply and fit only. A similar project can be had from Digitrains but without the reworked light functions. Zimo MX644D is required.

I'd say that the sound project is slightly better than SWD. I prefer Zimo for their increased functionality and things like active braking on F2, etc.

@@jintysvideos5015 Thanks for the heads up. I've got the Chetter project in my first 25...but wanted a variation in the second one...but I do love the active braking, and Loksound have been capable of this for a while but maybe some dealers haven't been updating their projects? Anyway...all good fun this sound lark...thanks again.

I've been modelling O gauge for just over 2 years now and I can honestly say that it's the best money I've ever spent on model railways. RTR is getting better and better now and makes it even more inviting ;)

I use two bass reflex speakers mounted on home made pedestals over each bogie facing downwards. I believe it gives a rich tone to the excellent sound project by Paul.

I agree, it sounds really good. Are they the 1" bass speakers by QSI ?

No they are 70mm x 33mm x 16mm units that I buy in direct from the manufacturers in Aisia. 2W, 8ohm wired in parallel to the MX696. Thanks for your reply David. Worth thinking about. I usually use a 45mm round bass reflex speaker in a custom enclosure in the tanks and the 1" QSI speaker somewhere near the scavenger fan pointing upwards. It's nice to have alternatives though if space is tight. Thanks again, Steph

Yes it is a Heljan class 25/1 fitted with a Zimo MX696S decoder and Paul Chetter sound project.

Hi there, thank you for your kind comment. The decoders are Zimo MX645's with an Active drive feature and also with the ability top alternate the type of chuff to suit the gearing of the loco. These type of decoders are available from Digitrains and YouChoos.

Jinty's Videos Ah yes, of course! But they are a little bit expensive, aren't they? If I recall, before Youchoos offered the Immersive/Active Drive option, the decoders were normally priced at around 70-90£. Now they somehow cost well over 100.

Hi Sodor, just had a look and they are £95 for the MX645R (8-Pin) with immersive drive. Certainly better decoders and more bang for your buck than ESU are (In my opinion!)
