Practice. It is a perishable skill. If the drogue or boom position drifts don't over compensate. Arrest the drift. Then ease back into position.

I have the VKB pedals which have only one axis. I split it with Joystick Gremlin and vJoy. That allows me to use the pedals for the rudder and wheel brakes at the same time. Makes taxiing and launching those taildraggers much easier.

I don't no why but on the local web GUI the message "server not responding" does not disapear ,I think that it's because the dcs world server is not install on the good file maybe
You do need the terrain used in your mission available for the dedicated server. The dedicated server login account does not need a license for the terrain but it must be installed on that dedicated server.
my friend cant join my server it say server offline even tho i already start the server
You can log in to the DCS website using the account that your server is using. Go to the profile page and you can see your server there. If it shows offline you may need to add port forwarding to your router. If it shows online then perhaps your friend is not running the same version of DCS as your server.

@@draftgo4895 Log in to the DCS Web Site using the account you are using for the dedicated server. Click profile and then my servers. If your server doesn't show online there and you cannot manage it there then you may have a firewall issue. If it is okay there then the problem is probably with your friend's computer. Your friend must own the same modules that are using in the server mission, terrain, planes, etc....
I can not see Hardware AB Detent option in F18. Just missing. (updated),Whats wrong?
Hmmm, I don't use the in-game AB detent. I was using the Warthog Throttle detent which is pretty much physically fixed. So, the curve is to compensate. I use a Virpil throttle now which allows me to physically move the detent and so no longer use a curve here.

it took me 4 hours to get it working (because I'm an idiot) but in the end thanks to this video i managed to get it working. Thank you so incredibly much!
It was because asymmetric thrust in the.B/D due to flame it out in burner could result in loss of control. The A version needed both engines in afterburner because if one engine flamed out, the peaky TF-30 engines did not make enough thrust in military power to safely climb out if the plane was at max takeoff weight. It was totally safe to just use military power in the A version when it was lightly loaded and you can find old videos from the 70s of F-14A taking off in mil power.

VR or TrackIR?
TrackIR. Tried VR a couple of times over the years. The first Oculus Rift and then a Quest 2. Just more trouble than value for me.
@@sidesl Thanks for the info. I'm going to start on DCS soon. I got a Quest 2 myself aswell, and it has been working great on Warthunder for me with a 3070ti. Can't compare WT and DCS ofcourse, but I'll check these settings in VR on DCS for sure :)
Thanks for this work Lynn Sides. For Fa18, my detent location is 25. Your Excel file give me user values 0 10 21 31 41 51 61 70 80 90 100. But it didn't work: after burner come too late. I 'm finally take the standard values 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 and modified it a little to 0 9 18 29 40 50 60 70 80 90 100.

what did you bind the zoom to on the controller?
Physically I use the incr - decr half wheel on the Warthog throttle but using joystick gremlin I map that physical axis to a virtual axis in vjoy. Then I map the zoom to the vjoy axis. That allows me to use apply a deadzone filter using joystick gremlin which eliminates all jitter. I made a couple of other videos showing how to do that. ua-cam.com/video/I26OKE_zukM/v-deo.html

I don’t feel a detent on my warthog throttle.
It's there by default but can be removed. You must lift up on the throttle and push forward to get past the detent. If you bought the throttle used then maybe the original owner removed it.
@@sidesl Thanks for the reply, this is likely the case with my throttle.
@@701Builder There's a strip of metal between the two throttle halves that can be removed by removing the two hex head screws holding it down. The detent is a piece of plastic easily removed/replaced under that metal strip. You can buy an original replacement or a modified one that will allow you to push through the detent rather than lifting the throttle to get past it. Typically less than $10 US. Easy to print if you have a 3D printer.

It's been years since I don't fly the F-18, but you can visually see the speed break while looking back. It also has an indication in the cockpit if I'm not mistaken. In the F-16 it has a very bad cockpit indication and you can also visually see if they are extended. As part of my muscle memory I close the SB in certain phases of flight without even looking. 1 click full retract.
Set a delay fuse Also, there are speed and angle calculations that can be done, although it's harder in these warbirds, because you don't have the ability to set mils of depression

CBUs seem to me as if they would be useless in a contested airspace - you flew right over the targets. Good kills tho
They’re inertially guided. Give them a loft and they’ll go twice as far as a maverick.
Yeah, just doing some testing. I've found you can redesignate a target while still in pre mode. Helps to find a target in the pod if you have a steerpoint for reference.

Tf30 was zone 2 at prep and zone 5 after the shuttle took off. 110s didn't need AB and as you showed asym thrust could cause a hellva ride off the deck with a flame out.

It is the particular speed(s) of an aircraft that makes it invisible to radar. Specifically the moving target indicator function of the radar.

You need a physical throttle with two separate axes that can be unlinked. If your throttle has only one axis you could map one engine to that and the other engine another axis.
I'm glad they put the explosive fence at the end of the runway!
Lots of good advice here. The flaps are mapped now.
My suggestion is on final aim for about 200-220kph around .8 ATA and a steady glide slope, trim aft to help keep a nose high attitude. Keep hold it off for aslong as possible and becareful not to bounce becuase if you do anything more than setdown lighter than a leaf falling from a tree expect damaged landing gear. Warbirds are unforgiving. Good luck!

Aouch.... You need to bleed more speed, which is hard on that bird. realy make sure before turning in final that you airspeed is already where it should be. When you touch down, pull the stick to lock the tail wheel and apply rudder and small break inputs. Also check out Reflected's campaigns, he's the guy who makes the amazing historical campaigns for dcs (which are definitely a must have along with any ww2 module you buy IMO). Quick question. Does the server run even if the computer is off?
If you want a dedicated server without running it on your own computer you might consider Fox3.
@@sidesl Fox3 is to expensive. I dont have the money for it.
@@MrViggie37 Eagle Dynamics hosts a connection service but not the multiplayer servers. You have to keep it on running on your own computer when you want it to be available.

These bots on the carrier are only good for visual effects and do not enhance simulation realism, which I find quite disappointing.
Supercarrier isn't worth it at its current or even sales price imo. The flight deck crew do function, but they are kind of lacking. ED has been really slow with Supercarrier feature updates too.
