Goodies are great way how to positively train equines and love to see you had immense success! :) I had quite opposite effect with one of my huculs. She really, REALLY loves to eat and when you don´t have something to nibble on - veeery angry! But after they knew they won´t miss anything after returning from work, it was fine. So I usually avoid giving goodies from hand :) Just a little note that sometimes positive reinforcement can turn into negative - if you forget to bring goodies :D
Hi, yes you're absolutely right. When training with positive reinforcement, you need to fade out the treats, just use them for new or in this case extending behaviours. If you're seeing frustration, try using a lower value feed like chaff or hay, feed big handfuls ( chewing encourages relaxation), and read body language carefully, when you see low levels of anxiety ie tightness around the mouth or wrinkles around the eyes, stop training and get relaxation again with scratches or moving to easier behaviours. Hope that helps 🙂
Your bunnies are so cute.

Belle le sacche sulla schiena dei pony dove si possono comprare?
They're just bicycle saddle bags attached to a kid's shetland pony saddle. Very light weight and easy to use. Pixie has 'barefoot' saddle bags strapped over her saddle. Hope that helps 🙂
❤
Why fat
She's a rescue pony and had previously had a lot of foals. It's just her shape, bless her. 🙂
This is wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing :) Id love to go for walks with my pony at liberty. However, he stops to eat grass and doesn't want to follow me, except when I get completely out of sight 😂 and because of his past (he is a rescue and was overfed on treats), I can't use treats as reinforcement. Do you have any advice on how I could convince him to follow me, snacking on grass as he walks along, instead of staying and grazing in one spot?
Hi, there are a few things you could try. Does he already know how to walk with you at liberty without grass? If not, start there. I'll pop a video up of how I did this with Oscar originally. If he does, keep him on a loose rope to start with and just take it off or put it over your back when you're in bits that don't have as much grass. You can pick grass along the way and feed this to him as he walks with you to the next juicy bit. This'll get his attention on you more. I'm presuming he gets nippy with food, is that right? If so, you could use sugar-free chaff mixed with a few grass pellets ( wet it slightly if you don't mind getting wet hands). Feed big handfuls when he looks at you and build from there. The longer chew time will help him to relax and stay below threshold. Hope that helps, 🐴😁
Great idea 🙂
Glad you think so!
Fabulous idea :)
Thank you! 😊
So peaceful 🙂
i would defrently use a bitless bridle myself when driving shetty's or just in general smaller breeds, what bitless bridle do you use? 🙂 or do you just take the bit off a normal bridle? btw, dont mind my bad english grammer 😅
I just use a headcollar with Pixie. There are some great bitless bridles out there though. Personally I prefer those that don't tighten or put increasing pressure on sensitive points. 🙂
@@horseplay5107 okay! ^^
