You only beat it because the driver was playing with you. Sonata N line is nearly 2 seconds slower to 60 and quarter mile compared to the M235i.

The two series Gran coupe has a transverse drivetrain. The straight sixes are too long to go in sideways.

The coupe and the sedan are completely different cars. BMW is misleading by calling them both a "2 Series". The 2 Series Coupe is an actual BMW from the ground up, it's on a similar if not the same chassis as the 3 and 4 Series, and it was designed with rear wheel drive in mind from the beginning. The Gran Coupe, however, is just a mini cooper FWD chassis with a mini cooper engine and some BMW skin thrown on top. It's meant to be an "affordable" entry level option for those who just have to have a BMW badge

​@djkjthe3rd185 it's front wheel biased AWD. This means that most of the power and torque is sent to the front wheels first, the base model of this car is just FWD. Being that it was designed from the ground up with FWD in mind, there is no way the could possibly fit the b58 in this car, sideways or not.

The only thing I did was add a little JB plus tuner. They made a pretty big difference though on the 0 to 60 time. After the JB learned the car over the course of a few hundred miles, the 0 to 60 is down to 4.2+. I see lots of reviews an auto blog say 4.5 to 60 but that is not the case. This car is faster than BMW claims. I saw a car and driver test driver get a 4.3 to 60 on a stock one of these. I also add that I have yet to have even one tiny problem with this car. Hasn’t gone back to the dealer except for oil changes.

Yeah right about 300 Ho or so. It drives much quicker than a typical 300 hp though, due to its short length and light weight. Definitely worth the price tag.

I mean if fwd bias, 4 cylinder cars are your thing, then this is perfect. If you’re someone who buys a car and leaves it oem then this is perfect. However not for everyone.

I just bought one and everyone loves it. The stock burbles sound amazing, I can’t wait to get louder exhaust. Also it’s a lot faster than I expected. It’s stocked and I’m smoking little V8’s 😂 I haven’t personally timed my 0-60 but I read or saw awhile back that someone got it down to 4.2 which ain’t bad for stock 2.0 4cyl. I also which more companies made aftermarket parts.

I only owned one and first BMW (E36) with a 4-pot. Since then, all are 6-pot. I love the look and performance of M235i GC. The only thing I still hesitate is it’s engine and interior, comparing with my 640d GC. I probably pay £10k more for 840i GC.

@liam I bought those black M badges and put them on myself. Some of the euro models come with them and I like the look so I added some to mine. Cheap too!

I agree, this is a very quick little pocket rocket. Have mine now for 3 months and rarely even put it into sport mode, have not even tried launch control yet .other than the somewhat loud exhaust “Brap ” sound you get as you rev it up through the gears, it’s absolutely perfect. I find no problem using mid grade fuel with either 89 or 91 octane for day to day use, but will use premium 93 during hot or high altitude driving . No need to waste an extra 30 cents a gallon on premium the rest of the year

The video was taken 5 minutes after I finished installing the X pipe. I did the fine tune adjustments afterwards. It's all symmetrical and even all the way around. If it looks aftermarket, it's probably because it is. lol

@@Somnospeed Must be because you've gone with the brushed version. Wondering if the chromed version will be closer to stock look. Can you clarify, once the main X-pipe was installed, you can fine tune the position of the tips by adjusting the little screws underneath?

@@johnpoo1662 Yeah. Just loosen a couple bolts and shift it wherever you want. The side by side pipes came spread too wide from the factory. I bent those in to make them even, which was easy to do once the Xpipe was installed. It holds the X-pipe still, enabling it to be bent much easier.

Was it easy to take off the original without special tools?

Not really. Some very close calls but never had any scraping. Most garages are totally fine.

Appreciated, thanks. I'm looking into a base 981 without PASM or anything but started to get stressed about my parking garage after reading stuff on forums. Seems like more of a problem on CS and GTS with lips and lower suspension, etc.

I will do that in the spring. Winter here in Michigan. :-(

Absolutely. Keeps the Porsche sound 100% but just makes it a little louder and with rumble. All other aftermarket exhausts change the sound of the Flat 6. This one does not because it uses all Porsche OEM parts, just modified a little.
