The texture on the metal piece that surrounds the key levers is called "hammered". Your product looks really good, but there is an easier method that comes in a spray can. It can be found online and is made by rustoeum. Hope this helps with future projects!

As someone who worked on office equipment for some years in a former life I just knew I would not like this when you used pliers to undo a nut at the early part. Then when you sprayed paint over all the working mechanisms hiding the rust, I decided you were not doing a restoration at all, but just making a short term shiny object. I would like to have seen you strip out the typebars and all the links and springs from the combs and done a real de-rust. Having said that I did like the way you cleaned the small parts in the jar with stones and the drill. I will have to remember that one, thank you.

I'm calling this a staged video. How does a typewriter get so rusty? Most are left in attics or trucks, not outside in the elements. Like so many others, I believe you artificially aged this item for the purpose of creating contnet.

Why would you try to replicate a common, easy to find paint? It is cheap & easy to find at any hardware store or wherever paint is sold. It is a hammer type paint. You can buy it in a rattle can & it is also available as a powder coat paint. Why make a job harder than it has to be? 😂
