Your commentary is awesome.iam learning chess from you. keep going forward lots of love
🎁🧑🔬
in the last game pushing the e-pawn after d4 is better than exchanging because exchanging justifies this e3 move from white. e3 has the drawback of blocking in white's dark squared bishop. i think that would be explanation from chess principles and its nice that the engine agrees here as well. but i guess if you are more comfortable playing the structures after exchanging then it might make more sense to exchange.
I swear I saw this video before lol
Wait, what when I get to 2000, there's another road I gotta take ??? 😮
Lollll, only if you wish to improve further
you didnt have to play Nf3 to stop the check, f5 is fine, as you have g3 as a response to the check
Got back to 994 today, lots of work
Random question, but what keyboard is behind you, it looks a bit like the m-audio one I have
Do you hope to be titled some day?
NM would be cool but it's not something I'm hardset on getting
Uhm, worst tactics ever
hi i am pretty new to chess can you explain why these are bad tactics?
No it's theory, white is much better objectively.
no it ain’t sthu
cool, look at gothams video of vienna opening, it's literally theory. I know i'm 2000 and use this opening a lot.
This is literally theory lol
Bro teach us theories, tactics and sacrifice like Tal 😎
Personally, I enjoy watching and playing 15+10 games more than 10+0. I feel that I can't think in 10 min games. It also helps since I attend a club once a week where a 70D10 game is played. 15+10 allows for deeper calculation, which ultimately improves you as a player. Good luck at the OTB tournament!!
Appreciate the feedback ❤️
Hang in there I’m only 1268 right now shooting for 1400 by June!
Oh that's ez work!
Very nice commentary. I like how you don’t overthink, and you almost sound like a general of the board. “I don’t wanna lose my bishop here” and that move actually won you the game in the end with the pin on the pawn to the king. Great attack, it’s nice to be able to learn from videos like this to just have common sense and be logical with your moves
W video. Great idea on the 15 min games. I'm rooting for ya!
Hi Apex, great game! 32:30 You may want to take a look at the Queens Gambit Decline e4 line with the analysis engine. On a higher depth it is the top move (my analysis went to depth 25). When you looked at the Nd2 move after Bb4, you overlooked them going back with Nc3 instead. It evaluated at +0.5. The review board engine only goes to depth 18 I think - always good to double check it in key positions. I’ve had it evaluate moves as inaccurate when they are top moves with more depth.
You honestly need to improve the accuracy anything below 85 is bad , also not to be mean but your opponents end up throwing some way or the other in last few videos I saw.
That's chess
@@salamon9114 also, plz link your chesscom account so I can see all your rapid games with only 85%+ accuracy
@@ApexChesss I have you added same pfp,I added you when you were 1300 , came a long way 🐱
Hi, it’s my first time on your channel, Are you 2000 yet?
Yup
Yeah bro put on the heart rate monitor
Just curious and probably out of context but what do you do for living is it just yt and twitch or do you have a job ? Just curious yk
Just this atm
The way this man plays chess is so methodical. Very good player!
How does he miss Qh7? Just saying.
Same way a grandmaster can miss mate in 1
Gotta watch his heart rate get to 160bpm 😭
For better or worse you look less hobo with shorter beard hair OTB is always nice to see, gl
Nice work
Really Enjoying the calm commentary keep it up dude
Wow you uploaded earlier than usual
“is there a way to defend this pawn while attacking the queen” while the knights can literally do that. then just a pawn move
Very sound Advise. I've been a long time sub, but haven't seen you in my feeds lately. Great Video!
The captions say “Gotham chest”
Just wondering if like in your second game and you talked about how both you and your opponent was winning (or losing); would you show the game flow graft.
Nice work
can we play
For some reason I get real anxious towards the end of the game even though you’re the one playing :’)
oh myyy ahaha
What a smart draw
Bro also make a video about making a repertoire and not going into lines of theory but with actual play!
This is why I'm Subscribed
@@utkarshh136 I have playlists that showcase the different openings I'm playing. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're asking
@@ApexChesss Yeah I am not saying you teach that in the video but explain how you can build your repertoire according to your liking!, How while playing you can build it game by game not just gulping all the knowledge and give some recommendations other than your own openings!
@@utkarshh136 ahhh okay I gotchu. I'll think on this one and if I can think of a valuable way to make it into a video I'll do it👍
Very nice video, thanks! Can you create a similar video for blitz, how to reach 1000 ELO? Context, I am 1100 ELO rapid, I have a nice winrate if I play 15+10 games. Problem is, due to my life circumstances I rarely have time to play 35-40 minutes games. So, I switched to blitz 5m but I am just not capable of making moves that fast, and I lose on time in winning positions a lot, and I feel I can't keep track of opponent's plans and upcoming moves. So, I am stuck at 400. I thought 400 elo chess at blitz would be really random and I would be able to win easily, but truth is that bros at that level already know what they are doing
There's no secret. Just get better at the game and keep playing rapid. Don't focus on blitz. Once you're better at rapid, youll be able to play blitz better. Some context: I was like 1000 blitz and didn't focus on it at all, only rapid and then over a short period of time my blitz went up to 1400. Blitz is more intuition and spotting tactics fast
I am 2100 elo rapid player and I had same mindset as you when I was playing blitz. I thought I am clearly better than my opponents and I should beat them. In reality skill difference is not that big so 1600-1800 rated blitz players can beat you and me fairly often. You have to treat these opponents as equals to you. Other solution to get higher elo is just to play "boring" chess. You have clearly difficulty to calculate quickly in wide open and complicated positions. That+reading chat will lead you to time trouble where you will make too many blunders. Attacking chess is fun but you can attack more wisely after your position is solid. In many games you just launch attack before you have even castled or developed enough pieces for it to be succesful. Btw my bullet is 2000 but my blitz is only 1800. It is kinda weird I think.
@@Jimb00221 yeah but I've also peaked at 1920 blitz so i know I'm capable of being higher at blitz. Also, I kept playing after stream and immediately got back to 1700. 11.5/12 so I think the streaming aspect playing a huge role
Yo, just real constructive feedback, I love your channel, but we don't need to be this closeup for this kind of a video, good for streaming but unnecessary when this shot is the whole video.
@@lucasferreira3955 that's just how my camera is bro bro, nothing I can do about it
This is solely a personal opinion. I have no issue with this lol
congrats on 1500
Missed Ne1+ when u played Qe5
You had rxc3 qxc2 doesnt really matter cause ure completely winning anyway
Really nice video, Apex, with some great tips and advice 👍
Apex im 2400 dont make me wanna get to 1500 again 😡
So you're a FM
watched a game of two 2000s yesterday, the 2080 blundered 2 pawns in the center by randomly shuffling some pieces making the position -3 for no reason. So yeah 2000s can play bad moves.
Solid instructions! Love watching your games and appreciate the education. Currently floating at 1200 rapid. I play too fast, get lazy with the check list, and don't spend enough time studying. I know what I need to do and this video makes it a lot more digestible.
Really nice video, thank you ApexChess
Great video bro!
