When you touched the floor of the geyser or are you saying that you're really close to the bottom, but still is floating? If you touched the floor of the geyser, make sure you're not directly on the center, and be on the edges of the geyser. If you're close to the bottom, try hugging one of the walls and it might push you down.

Pretty sure any trailers work, but for heavy trailers it's weird as it leans forward, and you would need to have the supports off otherwise it'll be slowed down, not sure if it works the same though but you can try to test it out if you'd like

Only by dying so far- but if you got something you need to take from the island, and you really want it, you can drop it into the ocean, and slowly take it across the ocean- you'd have to do it multiple times though and you can throw the stuff too or you can put it on your trailer and push your trailer so that it goes towards the mainland so that even when you die, it's still slowly rolling towards the mainland (unless you hack, but we don't talk about that-)
