These two reels were recorded at O'Donoghue's Pub on May 23, 2015 during the evening session. The musicians are Andy (guitar), Matteo (banjo), Paul (accordion) and Helen (fiddle). Enjoy despite the interferences in the pub.
A must go place. Absolutely on bucket list . if in Ireland and haven't spent evening here, you haven't been in the REAL Ireland. Friday or Saturday evening. Dinner and a sip.
Irlanda, precioso pais, y lo mejor su gente. Gracias por el tiempo que comparti, hace ya muchos años.
Long Live souhern irland❤
I’m an O’Connor from the United States. I’ve traced my family to the County Roscommon. I look forward to the trip to this pub with my two sons and we will have a pint for my Father and His before who have gifted us this life. Proud to have come across this video and hope to share in the next song.
It will be the best time of your life.
❤

great name
This is how i remember pub life,
like a scene out of titanic
Brilliant
It was our first time to Ireland from the States. We had motored from Galway to the West coast and stumbled upon Gus O’Connor’s; it was a typical Irish day: overcast, chilly and drizzling. We sat at the bar, the peat fire was glowing and the room was filled with that distinct smoky aroma. We had a magnificent lunch of fish chowder, brown bread and Guinness. It’s a memory that we cherish to this very day; that was on September 10, 2001, the day before the world changed forever.
Looking for "Tosie", an irish session bones player from Ennis, Co Clare, aged 65/70. Does he still alive ? (Padraig Lynch)
quel et le titre de ce morceau magnifique
Pretty lady. Bet she could kick you over a wall!
Gah! I just visited the Clare region last month and didn't make it north of Miltown Malbay. Doolin and O'Connor's pub are going straight on my “next visit to Ireland” list. It will be my 4th visit. Notes to visitors: Miltown Malbay is, in itself, a charming, friendly small town in Country Clare. Personally, I love its haberdashery store, and recommend Friels pub (aka Lynch's) who serve mean gin & tonics from local producers. The Westbridge bar/pub is great, too. My fussy husband enjoyed coffee from The Frozen Spoon - a hot pink place, you can’t miss it. We got takeaway potato & leek soup with buttered homemade bread for dinner one night from The Old Bakehouse, a red place - their soup & bread were simple, delicious and just brilliant. The town is easy walking, and showcases its colourful history very proudly and well. County Clare in general is special. I suggest you plan to stay in the area at least a night or two - don’t rush through it.
Dancing to the tune of the Sally Gardens reel
Love it
Went to doolin when I was only arond 11. One tiny street with only pubs and a few shops. One of my favorite places I’ve ever been. It’s been 14 years but I hope to make it back soon

Gorgeous music, dancer, and atmosphere. What more can you ask for?
Perhaps a table or a slightly elevated stage for the dancer, otherwise fantastic.
What's the called tune? Pleas
The name of the tune is "Sally Gardens".

My family is from this very part of Eire. I took my daughter there to visit our ancestorial home when she was at Trinity College studying for her Master Degree. I so treasure this time with her. That was many, many years ago.

A lively tune... a pretty girl danced about... she kept her knickers on and it was still great fun... Imagine that.
Hired by the bar to give the tourists something to gawk at.
@@AFaceintheCrowd01 It worked. ; )
This would be so much better if we still had our Monarchy. Bring back the queen I say
Queen Maeve from Connacht took her ship to London to see the Queen of England, Elizabeth Tudor, in order to get her son released from prison. Elizabeth's Palace minders and officials did their best to block her entry but they failed. When the two differently dressed Queens met, they got on great with each other and spoke in Irish Gaelic. Elizabeth was lots of things, not all of them good, but she was a polyglot go raibh gaeilge aice. Maeve succeeded in getting her son released from jail, much to the annoyance of the Court minders.
videos like these lift your spirits no matter how down you might feel. Found myself grinning and tapping my feet along with it all
