Geoguessr but I use plants to find out where I am (US)
Переглядів 1,5 тис.Рік тому
Here are some of my favorite moments from a series of Geoguessr streams where I try to only use plants and natural features to guess my location as accurately as possible. My plant knowledge is currently limited to the United States primarily, so all of the locations in this video are from USA maps. I hope you enjoy! Wait is Hawaii part of North America? 😅
I think it technically isn't, but I'm glad it is in the map!
Yay. A new video. 🙂
Every video is peak content 🐐
@@LegacyzGeo Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them!
First❤
hawk tuah
I'm undecided on the second location birds (but was looking on a small video size so maybe you could see more). From one of the angles, I was thinking the tail was a probable Western Kingbird (Eastern also is present in the actual location but is too dark). Just another option to mention anyway. From other angles, Bobolink seemed fine too.
@@BioDeTours-rc1pm I hadn't thought of kingbirds! I am wondering if Lark Bunting would be a possibility as well, the contrasting black and white was the most striking feature to me.
2:36 Bobolink - that's an interesting name. Had to check what it would be in Finnish. :)
They are very common around the Great Lakes too!
cute
Your knowledge of plants is amazing. I find myself looking at them knowing what they are and you following right behind also knowing what they are.. (I can recognize most of the plants besides some plants like the species of airplants because I live in canada) You're amzing my man.
Thank you for the kind words!
@GeoNebula Np. I love your content man
@GeoNebula Actually I have a quick question. What sparked your interest in plants?
@@Nathanpoopy I've had an interest in nature for pretty much my whole life, starting with birds and then moving into reptiles and amphibians. Then when I was in college, I had an amazing botany professor who really opened my eyes to how awesome plants are too, and I've been hooked ever since!
these videos are an absolute joy to watch!
@@GeoJaydi Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching!
this is genuinely such an amazing video
@@kuni8578 Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome! Do you ever play non-US maps? Would love to see you try a full North America map!
Thank you! I've been focused on the US lately but I do enjoy playing Mexico maps as well. Really looking forward to practicing Costa Rica when that comes out!
Costa Rica is a ridiculously beautiful country so I'm really looking forward to it being in GG too! Panama was released fairly recently and that's been fun to explore as well, there are many plant species similar to Columbia but also Guatemala, Mexico and Dominican Republic (although the DR coverage is relatively urban focused). Up in Canada I think you would really enjoy BC, which has many distinct climates within its boundaries! Anyways, keep up the great wholesome content! 🙂
In terms of colour scheme that California round looked quite Australian. But of course the actual species were very different
Rainbolt, but using plants instead of mountains, roads and poles
Yo that fig tree in the beginning was kinda nuts.
loving the mario galaxy music!
I love how passionate you are about plants!
@@neofluxer2838 Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Dude loves him some flora. Fauna is cool. Flora is the s___
I've been enjoying these. I'm learning a lot!
this actually makes me interested in botany. I never found it so interesting, but when you put it to locations and with good content, i am hooked! i love it
My first thought was that this is where the Jersey Devil lives 🤦🏻♀🤣
LOL I had to look that up, never heard of it! Thanks for watching!
I still struggle recognizing these in a mixed forest, thanks for the tips once again =) Your videos are gold.
@@LegacyzGeo My pleasure, thank you for watching!

You have inspired me to research into trees. Just completed my research on Austria thanks to this guy. I really cant thank you enough for inspiring me.

Awesome video! Those real-life ferns look exactly like the ones in the game
This is great, you should definitely analyze the plant life in every kingdom. Maybe check out Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as well!
@@brandonr3741 i've already started looking, there are some interesting plants in the other kingdoms too! Tears of the Kingdom is definitely on the list, it's another one of my all time favorites.
This is really cool! It's really unique, so I can't think of any suggestions, but I'd love to see more. Thanks for the video! Edit: I looked through my games and thought that maybe the trees and plants in Skyrim could be interesting.
@@gwts1171 thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Skyrim is definitely worth looking into!
love this tree! <3
sweet, came here from Zi8s vid from 9 months ago and left a note on his vid asking for more colobs. Then visited your chan and this pops up. Another 20 mins of entertainment. Thanks both ^^
This is fantastic
Even for monkey puzzle trees that one looks especially weird lol
Super relaxing video bro keep it up
Love your videos. Subscribed. 🙂
Thank you so much! Glad you liked the video!
This guy is so wholesome I love this
Cool video! I always learn so much from these, but I'm struggling with learning which trees are which in game. How did you learn to identify trees so confidently?
Thank you very much! I started out by looking at field guides for the trees of North America (the Sibley Guide to Trees is a great one), but these days I mostly use the iNaturalist website/app for seeing which tree species are in any given area. You can search a species that you are curious about and see tons of photos submitted by users, which really helps me become familiar with their leaf shapes, colors, size, and growth habit. You can also see the geographic range of any given species on iNaturalist, which is super helpful to know for Geoguessr.
I love these videos man
yoo happy to see yt vids coming more often!
@@oopsgeo Thanks so much!
Everytime I hear Hemlock I think of the 3 round burst weapon from Apex legends LMAO. Good stuff as always!
@@VenatorXVenator LOL Thank you bro!
Northern Oak Fern (I can never remember the scientific name - it starts with a "g") always reminds me of my childhood playing in the wooded areas here in MN. There was tons of it. Thanks for the fun video!
@@gwts1171 I just looked it up, that's a new one for me! Thank you for watching!
Super interesting as always!
Great video !!! We should see much more videos like this, botanic is a super meta to help to find the location. Hope you will publish other videos, good job
