Mini pod | Why are white people allowed to play Mas? | NH Carnival Special
in this Notting Hill Carnival special, Marianne Sunshine commentates on the recent event in London.
She covers the History and reason for the event as well as how the British media and police see the event as violent.
With carnival being an event which celebrates the emancipation of slavery, should non Black people be allowed to participate?

An old episode from S1 of The Cosby Show , Cliff played by Bill Cosby teaches his son Theo played by Malcolm Jamal Warner what life is like if you do not work hard at school, get good grades and get a good job. This is a classic scene that we really need GenZ and Gen A to see to understand how the world works. still relevant today .

Just finished catching up, Marianne you cracked me up in this one with your Scrooge antics 🤣
😂 I mean every word. Thanks for watching x
The girlfriend bit at the end leaving him with no more money is the cherry on top of this lesson and joke lmao
Motorbike❓ Have fun in the RAIN and SNOW😅
Loved this, now going to binge the series! great interview !!!!!
Thank you so much for watching , I really appreciate the feedback xxx
I need to know more about Esheru’s background
Follow him on Twitter
... Guys.... I'm just a regular dude...
Hellooo! Just popping over to your channel to show some love, really enjoyed the pod last night 🥰
Thank youuuuu xx
Leeds is thr most traditional carnival in the uk anyway but I'm interacting with a lot of blacl creatives that know nothing about black culture
Who are these Black creatives?
@@MarianneSunshine I work around them I can't name names but Black British creatives.
@@MarianneSunshine but demographicaly what I'm noticing is they are middle class black that came here and didn't have to live in any of the historically black neighbourhoods in the UK, they lived around nothing but white ppl and are clueless
Ahhh! That makes sense. I see exactly what you mean in the creative industry, it’s very elitist. That’s a whole conversation by itself.
Well-done Tunji❤
👀
Good conversation. Thanks 🙏🏾❤️🖤💚
Really enjoyed this!! 🤍
Thanks for an engaging conversation
Then child support, insurance (auto and home) and car note.
In this world we're in today. Instead of getting 1 a job. Get 3 jobs. Because one job is not cutting it.
Regardless of what he did, this is still a great lesson!!
Totally agree😢. Some of the best lessons were learnt in this show than in a classroom.
What did he do?
@@DragonLuffy.I think he's talking about Cosby not Theo.
Exactly, and that why we have to start separating the character from the artikst playing it. Look, I know it remains the dull peculiar flavour that you're looking at a sexual predator giving you advices, but these are valuable lessons not giving often these days. If tomorrow Kim Jong Un finds a cure for cancer, you'll take it anyway, won't you?
A motorbike in New Jersey in December?? Have fun kid with 8 inches of snow and 20° ,get snow tires for your Honda 750
And the RAIN too😅 have fun Theo
$400 a month for an apartment in Manhattan? Even back then that doesn't sound right.
It actually was around $432 in 1985 so they were about right & that was considered high
Something remarkable about Black Brits
'Political commentator'? Does that mean a beneficiary of the British Welfare system? What does this pair do for a living? Nothing? Tell us please. And listen to them. They clearly support the notion of identity politics and pedal hate against a host nation that's had to tolerate appalling behaviors, welfare dependency, crime, and economic inactivity. Hopefully ordinary black people see through them. They are the road to fascism and clearly neither of these 'commentators' have any idea how a democracy works. Perhaps they would be better off in an African state? As regards St. George, are you not embarrassed that the best example you can find for injustice against an African American, and apparently all African British citizens, was a drug addled, thug who robbed people at gun point in their homes. One who died with a ballon of fentanyl shoved up his arsenal.
