I remember visiting the _Feast of the Hunters' Moon_ on the Wabash River near West Lafayette, Indiana, when I stayed in the States for a year as a little kid.

Eyyyy
@@authormichellefranklin Aye aye, Captain, said the semen before leaving the ship
Kirby, why would you tell Fuji-san?

And for anyone who wonders why we shouldn't celebrate Columbus, ask an Arawak
And just to be clear: Canadian Thanksgiving has nothing to do Columbus either.
Silly Fjisan, if you'd succeeded in hulking out you'd turn into a full sized volcano and kill everyone. Which, to be fair, is often what happens to banner when he hulks out, if less directly.

After that "Wrong!", I am convinced we need a Metal Thanksgiving.
I need some backing riffs!
Do you have a clean audio clip of you doing the "wrong!!!!" voice? I need it for a text notification :D

Mmm. Cheeseburg. But, and hear me out, what about a piece of cheese the size of an iceburg? You know they are hiding one in Wisconsin. >.>
But, like, part of the iceberg we can see or...?
I would be a proud resident of Cheeseburg.

We say “luh” to mean “look.” This isn’t a secret or warranting a deep dive, but thanks for explaining our culture to us.
Mmmm. Learning. So delicious.
Does a body good!
You may find it interesting to read that the Vegviser symbol is extraordinarily popular in the Icelandic horse riding community. It's found on (almost) all saddles, bits, harnesses, blankets and various other paraphernalia related to this occupation. And, yes, I also used to think that it was an ancient symbol. I have one tattooed on my leg (for personal, not ideological or religious reasons), but I was quite relieved to hear my now wife (who is an Icelandic horse riding trainer) gently correct me on the subject. 😄 Knowledge is awesome. Greetings from Germany!
@@nilssturman5258 Neat! I had no idea it was so popular in the equestrian world!

Oh my... That's all I've got. :D
I don't even know what I was saying there, because it just sounded like my brain was seeping from my ears.

So, she was sitting on a foot stool and not the big mushroom depicted in the illustrations?
Either a footstool or a hill. There are many visual interpretations that deviate from the text-- for example: where in the rhyme does it say that Humpty Dumpty is an egg? ;)
@@authormichellefranklinI went down that rabbit hole and saw him through a glass, darkly.
@@authormichellefranklin Haha! No. I only learned a few years ago about Humpty Dumpty. Definitely not an egg.
Manufacured cultural heresay is fun. Enables us to frame any drive-thru world view we want.
Oktoberfest, of course, expresses deep pre-Christian archetypes of the Bavarian spirit, such as lederhosen, dirndls, weisswurst, brezn (pretzels), beer, and the schuhplattler. As such, it is undeniably a pre-Christian "bacchic" festival that was then cruely suppressed by the Roman Catholic Church. When these pent-up tribal feelings and needs built up such enormous pressure in the pure Bavarian soul that they could no longer be safely contained, they were allowed to resurface in 1810 under worldly pretexts, albeit in a somewhat more tame and civilized form. For anyone who understands German, here is a short but very thought provoking discussion about the Oktoberfest: ua-cam.com/video/Fs1lPpvy6vA/v-deo.html Those who do not know German at least will find an interesting sample of authentic Bavarian dialect at 3m34s: ua-cam.com/video/Fs1lPpvy6vA/v-deo.html?t=214

Goblin Farts sounds like a great Halloween way to refer to pumpernickel now. "I gotta go buy some goblin farts at the store to make some ham sandwiches for lunch."
I think you would like Nonnenfürzle 😂
@@ithyphal Oh, I know nun's farts. They're delicious 😅
No, Fujisan. I'm the king of farts!

*cue the Bad Religion noises
@@authormichellefranklinSpeaking of 'suffer', Bad Religion, and their iconic album cover, there exists a saying attributed to Jesus which the King James Version translates as "Suffer the little children to come unto me". The Greek reads "Άφετε τα παιδία έρχεσθαι προς με", which simply translates to "Let the children..." in contemporary English
