Exercises: www.dropbox.com/s/dj836ujkmyl2jis/Fingerstyle.pdf?dl=0 No, your headphones aren't broken. Gall dang computer reverted back to recording in mono and I didn't catch it until it was too late, which is why you probably only hear it out of your left ear. Total amateur hour over here.

Can you give us a play through when youre done the teaching pls? Or actually before, that way we know what we are striving for :-) Thanks!!
I did not want to hear you speaking.
thats great bro, ty!
Excellent.
Many thanks!
Thank You so much. Simple repeated enough times makes perfection. 🙂
It’s wisky not whiskey!
Or better yet, hhhhhwiskie!
Hi Steve have tried to download Summer End tabs and Dont think Twice but ddopbox says your files deleted. Are you able to send via email? Thanks in advance. Dave.
Sorry. Had to move over to OneDrive. Try these: 1drv.ms/b/s!ArJMuYzTnKBv_CmGqrFKL9xAihoq 1drv.ms/w/s!ArJMuYzTnKBv9AHRO7nDWteqPgaq
If you view the official JP video of this tune, the one you reference here, he is playing a D7, not a D major, in the verses. G - Am - D7 - G. He does play a D major in the chorus and you can see the different finger positions - D7 vs D major.
Nice but way to fast for my level thanks but I can't tell where you are in the song although I catch a bit every 20th strum😅😮😢
Sorry about that. You can slow any UA-cam video down without changing the pitch. Try going half-speed in the settings and work up from there. Hope that helps. Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Thanks.
You're welcome!
Dude you’re the best for saying Easter bunnies get drunk at Easter I’ve always remember never eat soggy waffles for north east south west
I guess they've updated Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally in maths.
man I wanna learn this song but i end up crying because it reminds me of my brother who passed due to drug overdose as the character whom Prine is singing about in the song. really tear jerker, thanks for the lesson
We lost a brother the same way. That video is so so sad. I don't play that song much for the same reason. Here's to healing.
Hey what are you holding down to play G the way Neil plays it ???
I go over it at about 2:09. Ring finger on the 6th string third fret, you can mute the 5th string with your ring finger or fret it at the 2nd fret with your birdie finger, then the pinky on the 1st string 3rd fret.
Awesome mate. You explain it simply and clearly. Thanks heaps.
Glad it helped!
Thank you 🏆🙏🏼✨
Nice helpful lesson. I love Neil's music and Powderfinger has been my latest earworm, so, thanks for this. Also a John Prine fan so I'm going to check out your lesson on Summer's End. Liked and subscribed.
Keep on rocking in the free world!
!! yeah !! nice video keep rocking :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You killed this performance !
Coming from you, that's high praise!
Great tutorial made it really easy to play the chords thx 🙏 only thing that slightly bothers me is the one octave higher in the beginning, I wish I could quickly take on and off the capo🤣
"When you play GUITAR and pretend to know what YOU'RE doing.....EVERYBODY thinks you know what you're doing"... Joe Walsh....Eagles.....
It's true!
Well played Steve and thanks for the tutorial. Regards. Dave.o
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@rstevenhanson Thanks a lot Steve. I managed to open the file ok now. Regards. Dave.
Great lesson...thank you!!
My pleasure!
standart tunning?
Yup
Thanks for this 😍🙏
You are very welcome!
I'm confused you say 14234 on the g chords when you say 1 isn't that actually the sixth string? I'm a lil dyslexic maybe enjoying the video either way. I really want to play this!
Good catch! Do you know at what time in the video I say that? I'll try to add one of those fancy labels in the video correcting the mistake. I can't stand to watch myself or I would try to find it 😀.
It’s right around one minute when you pluck the sixth string but you say one …. this is the first attempt at picking a song that actually sounds like it might work!!! Thank you so much for making this video. Soooo heplful… if I misunderstood what you were saying let me know that as well but I felt like you meant to say the sixth string.
@Steve Hanson Right when you are talking about the picking...and the G chord. I caught that too...Good video, BTW
THANK YOU! ❤
You bet!
Sorry bro we don’t play Neil anymore.. too woke
So far you're the only UA-cam instructor to teach the correct chords! Thanks.
That's high praise! Thank you!
Please do tabs
What is the pick pattern you are using?
I never know, sorry. Try down---down-up---up-down-up. Probably the only strum pattern I know 😀.
Many thanks respect
Thank you!
Oh man easter bunnys get drunk at easter is how I'm going to remember now.
I need to figure out some devices like this for mando and all the ukuleles.
Thanks for posting this Steve. I’m hoping to learn this one. You should be getting more hits on your channel as you have good talent. Keep up the good work!
Very kind of you. Thanks!
Wow! I have been wanting to learn some John Prone tunes but haven’t found a video that didn’t loose me until yours! Well done simple lesson with great tabs! Thank you and I hope you do some more of his songs!
It's always Prine Time! Glad you liked it.
John's style was very "loose" (comfortable) with his phrasing. Your lesson expresses that style very well.
Thanks for your kind words. I'm missing him so much right now. He loved Christmas. Gonna make me a Handsome Johnny in his honor tonight! The recipe is in "When I Get to Heaven." Cheers!
this is a GREAT tune - thanks for the share/lesson - leaving a sub ! cause i be back
You are very welcome. Thanks for the thanks!
I'm still learning guitar
Enjoy the journey. This is a great dexterity riff. Don't fear the pinky!
Cool , thanks man 👍 - I always played this in the DAC style , but C Stapleton sure turned it on , I'll try it out - thanks again
Nice Prine shirt!!!
Thanks for noticing!
GREAT !!
Thank you!
Wow how did i find that gem just now! Beautiful cover man!
Thank you very much!
Thanks for this.
You are very welcome!
did man say darius fucker
Freudian slip. Sorry. No disrespect to Mr. Rucker.
Thank you for this! Made it much easier for me to learn this song!
Good to hear! It's a popular song and there are lots of lessons for it online. Glad you found something that worked for you.
Thanks for posting! If you have a minute, I recorded a cover of 'True Colors'. As a fellow music lover, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my channel. Hope you like it. Don't go too hard on me :)
My only critique would be that you number the strings backwards compared, what I believe, is “correct.” Albeit I’m still pretty new to guitar. Aside from that great video. Much clearer than some others out there 🤙🏻
Jk, I just watched further and it seems you only called the 6 string the string on the first run through of the picking pattern.
You said it, great song, great band and great lesson! Sadly only Robbie and Garth left now. 👍🎸🇨🇦
Glad you liked it. I'm kinda rooting for Garth to be the last man standing. Nothing against Robbie, and I hope they both have a lot great years ahead of them, but Garth is the oldest of all of them!

"OH, hey!" "Oh...hi" Im sorry.
😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing! If you have a minute, I posted some original tunes. As a fellow music lover, I'd love if you would take a listen. It's on my channel. I appreciate it!
Can you do this with your baritone uke using capo on second fret ? Would love to hear it
Love the request!
Okay. I tried it and without transposing it to the key of D, it sounds way too thin. Need a stronger root note. I'll bet a real uke player could do it justice though.
@@rstevenhanson ua-cam.com/video/Tc_Fdxc9FIA/v-deo.html Just wish I could grasp it better to put it all together 😂
@@pnevlud It will come with time. Keep on rockin' and it'll come!
Nice
Thank you!
