Seriously though why us the fortress gun even on monte grapps to begin with ?

Most boring thing I've seen all day
That stupid gun is what makes it almost impossible to capture the B point in that sector, making it pretty much impossible for attackers to win the operation, by far one of the least balanced operations. Worst thing is that you can just repair the fortress gun with a repair tool after it's destroyed, and it already has a ton of HP.

Was that an airship or a dreadnought? If memory serves me right, they had no armour.
While I doubt an airship would've withstood this much punishment in real life, airships were, in fact, extremely difficult to bring down. They don't have armour, true. But they don't need only. I think it was because each on the...can't remember their name...the things with helium and the other gas they used (hydrogen?) were segmented, so not too much of the gas was lost. I think. I watched the documentary long ago, I don't remember.

The fortress gun, in reality, is mostly just useful against infantry. This applies especially during operations, where you can rotate the turret 360° and kill players even if you’re out of bounds. Trying to kill a behemoth with them is almost never successful, since the timing of shots has to be accounted for.

Probably to check the bullet velocity cause it's bullet drop is hella big, plus the fortress gun has a restricted upward movement to a certain point
Because even though is looks super close thats like across the map plus the bullet drop on the fortress gun is big
