How to make pouring spout for solvent cans
I needed a spout for a solvent spout that would pour small quantities without spilling all over the place. I was in a hurry and could only find what I needed online. This was born out of necessity, so I hope it helps someone.

Met up with Eric & his bride at Bad Boys in Playa Del Carmen Mexico. Crazy Toy let us set in, and although only Eric & myself had ever done the tune, the band did great! Feb. 19, 2015.

Nina took this clip Feb 2011 at Bad Boys Bar in Playa. The Nasty Bastards let Tommy set in and they made the great sound. We had a great time with the Le sisters Randy and " Body Guard Big Ed Hawthorne "

This is a good idea. I bought a (#12 cork) and a (1/4 inch x 4 inch stainless steel nipple(male iron pipe threads)). Cork from hardware dept and nipple from plumbing dept. Both from Menards for under $5. Fits 1 gallon solvent can great. Drilling the cork I went in stages by starting small and growing the hole. Menards has many different cork sizes for different sized cans.
Thanks!....If the rubber "cork" was cut shorter....maybe modify original screw cap to fit over cork to secure to can...(without it falling through) ..... Gonna try it....again, thanks!
Thanks for the video. I was wondering...what are the dimensions of the steel plate you put under the ceramic? Thanks.
thank you. I need one for pouring a bit of boiled linseed oil from a large can into a small container. After it splashing all over, I remembered to punch a hole opposite the pour hole. it's better , but a spout will improve the pour control .
Look for a silicone cork so that the solvent won’t degrade the cork. I have been trying to make a similar arrangement for my lab. Great idea btw
*Works perfectly for my use as a heated press **MyBest.Tools** Space between the ram jack and the base is a little tight. Make sure you set the ram jack arm so that it's in a position for you to get maximum leverage on whatever you're pressing. You may have to unbolt the front plate of the press and realign the ram in the teeth so that the arm is not at an awkward angle when fully cranked down.Other than aligning the ram in the teeth with the crank arm this .5 ton arbor press comes out of the box pretty much ready to use.*
I would love to see if a nail clipper could be attached to your press? Great video btw.
Pretty good stuff.
thanks
Another video of no demonstration
can you suggest where or who task for getting the ram drilled? Thank you and happy new year!
Well, I did it on my floor drill press, holding it very straight with the aid of a drill press vice, that I bought either at Harbor Freight, or Menards. I started first with smaller drill bits until the 1/2 inch bit worked smoothly. It was a slow prosses, but I use this press all of the time. Any machine shop could do it for you, but I don't know what it would cost. Hope this helps,& Happy New Year!
Cute kittens!!!
thanks.
Very informative video! I got some scrap countertop material that I need to cut to size and round the front corners like you did. What did you use for those procedures? Any cutting tips would be appreciated. Thanks for the video.
For the metal adjustments I used a chop saw & 4" grinder, And for the countertop, I used my band saw. I think a jigsaw with proper blade would work fine on the countertop as well. Make sure you clamp your work piece down well, if you go with jig saw.
@@applewoodthree Thank you. Is your countertop material like granite or a more plastic type of material? Do I need a different blade for the band saw than the one that is used for wood?
@@shirleymalar304 The material that I used was more of a hard imitation type countertop. If you are dealing with granite, you might want to try a small angle grinder with a masonry cut off wheel.
did the pellet design work the way you planned?
Not as well as I had hoped. I started cold, and it took too long to take hold. It maybe would work better adding to an already hot stove.
Do you think putting a secondary air tube in riser tube help with flame and heat, or will it make a difference?
I don't think it would hurt.
