@coachcruise .. I'll double check carnival specific , it's what we opt for each cruise when booking. I briefly scanned through it in 2023 but don't recall details? Didn't even look for any changes in 2024

Wow that’s terrible to hear, were you on Journeys cruises? I’ve had that happen on Journeys cruise but no other cruise…also, just drink vouchers? What sailing was that? I’m curious

@coachcruise last new years on the jubilee and the last cruise we took on the Vista before it departed Galveston... we miss it!!!

I’m almost certain they will give time for people like yourselves who are close…like 2 years as I suggested to reach the next tier I highly doubt they would just say “too bad!” They will do something that doesn’t completely infuriate the customer, certainly some people will be upset, but as long as everyone has reasonable hope.. then I think most will be ok with the changes

I feel you…they must grandfather people in or give reasonable time for cruisers to hit next tier without penalty

For sure, I think they want to make sure this tweak doesn’t need to be adjusted for years

Not necessarily, as stated I think they’ll grandfather a lot of people in…or at least give time to achieve the next level before days jump up

You’re right it is a guessing game, but they don’t want to infuriate their entire population of cruisers…they have to sweeten the pot just enough to keep at least most of their base at the table

I think you give them too much credit. If we get angry and leave, there's 5 blue cards waiting for our cabin and they spend more money on board booking excursions, taking and buying every photo with every backdrop, going to all the Fun Shop "sales" and buying the $30 dollar T-shirts and mugs etc... all the things we used to do when we were newbies. Now we just cost Carnival money because Diamonds don't tend to do any of those things any more. That's why they are always giving deals and offers to new cruisers. They bring higher on-board revenue. The CREW loves us because we are family. Just like we love them. Carnival CORPORATION would probably rather us go and make room for the blue card cruise virgins who don't know what cruising USED to be. I'll be shocked if this new program brings us any new benefits or if they "gently" roll it out. I expect it to be dumped on us and then poor John Heald will have to put on his combat gear and deal with the angry fall out like usual. People are already going at him because the AARP 10% discount cards are gone. I wouldn't want his job for anything! Lol

They paid someone good money to come up with a great compromise for everyone, let’s hope they got it right

I think they’ll give a date for people to reach next tiers and be grandfathered in, that’s what I would do if I were them

I feel you! I’m certain they’ll add a tier and that will almost assuredly bump me down a notch as well…but they’re having difficulty squeezing the growing number of platinums and diamonds in now, so changes are coming, hopefully they won’t be stingy with loyalty perks, but we’ll see
