Video postcards, similar to static prints, include one or multiply views of place using a fixed-point camera. The object is to produce something akin in spirit to a painting, or a view from a window.
Where animate objects such as people and animals occur, they move into and out of shot, preferably at distance and across the picture plane. They are never followed and are not the purpose of the film, but just other compositional elements. The primary object is place not people.
A panning or zooming camera controls viewers' focus on elements that the film maker thinks are important, or believes 'make a point.' Filmed postcards let viewers make these decisions.
Added music is often intrusive and is only used in slideshows with no natural sound.
I can, and have, made films on request, depending on time and convenience of location. Areas usually visited are indicated in the present videos.
All videos are composed by, and original to, this channel.

well you have said the name wrong and its not belmont its bellmount tower
Is this not bellmount tower? I’ve never heard of belton tower
It's not an Ash, it's a weeping Beech - Fagus sylvatica pendula
My birthplace and have fifteen relatives resting there ,my childhood was wonderful and workshops remains my idea of heaven. My late husband not so keen as he was only ever known as my husband..But part of me will always walk those fields
Thanks
O:57 wth are those representing integration symbols on the walls
And the legend invented the calculus! 😁😁😁 This can't be just a coincidence. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
@@rhlsx yes sir newton is a legend looks what he has done without using any modern techonology we still uses his formulas to understand the laws of universe and still there are lots of things to discover but now humans are wasting their energy and power in man made devices thats make me sick there are unlimited equations yet to discover
@@AnandKumar-kz3ls don't worry, the legends are still doing their works and not distracted. Only the foolish ones are misuing their capabilities and opportunities. But those who know what's really important are still going on and on and on. 👍 BTW SIR ISAAC NEWTON is the legend of all time. Can't be replaced by anybody else. These kinds of people are born once in a millennium. 🔥
FUN FACT : Though Leibniz was in a fight with Sir Isaac Newton over the calculus discovery but he too was so influenced by him that he adopted the symbols made near windows of Sir Isaac Newton's house as the symbol for Integral. 😂😂😂😂😂Yes, this Integral symbol that we use and have observed in this video was introduced by Leibniz, not by Sir Isaac Newton. This shows that you can love him (Sir Isaac Newton) or hate him but can't ignore him. 😁😁😁😁😉😉🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 P.S. - It's mine imagination only, it might be true or not. But if it's true then it's damn great. 😂😂😂
@@rhlsx yeah but god trapped us in this cage we cant travel faster than the speed of light
0:33 BÉHÉHÉHÉHEHEERRRR.
Love the sounds, except the blasted traffic sounds from the A1... I could listen to the birds and the bleating of the sheep all day. ^_^
Mr Lawnmower Man
Thanks for sharing. One of those graves is my 5th generation direct ancestor. I hope to visit some day. Is the Church open or is it closed?
Kinda looking for a Denton castle because my name is Jacob Denton (I'm on a friend's account) and I'm 11th great-grandson of Rev. Richard Denton
I saw a monks scull in the Abby if you don't bellive me ask a member of crowlander they will tell you

My ancestor Dr Thomas Hurst was the Rector there in the 1600s.
My name is Hannah!

Cool video.
I would love to go there
Awesome! Thanks for the info :)
I know you asked this 3 years ago, but he did! So did Albert Einstein, and recently just the other week Neil deGrasse Tyson. Stephen Hawking at Woolsthorpe (remove spaces) boydharris. co. uk/snap_blog13/130510051ed2b. jpg
yes hes moved in very recently
I am over fucking whelmed
i live within a minutes walking distance from high beech church. Looks wonderful in the snow.
It's called Belmont Tower. You are confusing the name with Belton House in whose grounds it stands. In answer to the question "Can you get inside the tower?" Yes, I think there is a little tea shop in it at the top. Enquiries at Belton House would be able to advise you.
I live in Epping, Essex:))
very good
Good video, but you missed some of the nicest buildings! No Old Stables, no Old Water Tower and No Buckminster Park or the school. Plus there's the brickyard and the trout lake along with the rest of the park. Having said that, a very nice video.
Yes, enjoyed the trip down memory lane, much as I remember it from my childhood, my family lived in Tymberleighs opposite Black's farm in the late 1960's early 1970's. My sister Melanie and I attended Buckminster Primary, had a friend called Charles Exton possibly a relative of yours?
@ukgirlonce Blimey, you take a while to reply!!! I cant remember how I came up with the initials. Some inspired guesswork....I guess. You're what? 52, and once lived in the village? Where, give me a clue? Do you also have a sister?
@BradBrassman soooooo..........how did you come up with the j.s.?
Visited Woolsthorpe Manor last month, it was a brilliant experience to walk in the footsteps of a intellectual giant.
Was it a dedicated tour or did you just rock up
Not as good as Bottesford North Lincolnshire.
I worked and lived there. It's an amazing place.
Driven through here many a time from A1 to Kinoulton where I used to live until 25 years ago. I now live in Australia but always drive through when re-visiting.
I lived there from 1966 to 1968, but I haven't been back since 1970. Good video.
Great place to live. Phil T
For a person living in a big city this place is pretty fantastic.
Is the Hand In Hand still there? Memories of liquid lunch in the 70s!!
Very nice! I wonder if Stephen Hawking ever visited this place (?).
He must have. If he didn't he has to take a rebirth and visit this. This is a pilgrimage for the science men! ❤️ Most holy place for a person in Science fields!❤️❤️❤️
I wonder if you still use this account of UA-cam as you asked 10 years ago? 😁 And how are you now ?☺️☺️
Come on then give us a clue. Are your initials J.S.?
Brings back great memories from Fall 1996. I'd like you to turn the other way and get me a pint of John Smith's Bitter at the Gregory Arms. Ah, Harlaxton...
do you ever get to go inside to take photos?..inside the tower i mean
certainly relieves the homesickness when i feel it ...thanks again ...i should be home next year... :)..God willing :)
I wanted to visit this place recently while passing through Lincolnshire but missed the chance. Thanks for posting.
Better late than never. Very good like that part of the country going to head there in a few weeks time to see my friend
I live here in Harlow. where did you film this? It's a nice place. Looks like it's either taken in Old Harlow or near Hertford.
Tourists want to see this type of thing, and people like to live in beautiful places. so the revenue comes from the higher cost of living and the tourist dollars. cities can extract lots of money because of the hotel taxes. so it all works out.
Yes , at the top of North street, it's called trinity bridge.
They are crows... Crowland has aways had them at the abby ... it is a beautiful place. I should know as i live there hehe
It was wonderful until the Polish moved in!!
that's true
nice job on vidio
