Stationeers Mimas Standard 8 - Disappointing Power Plant, Death From Lung Damage and Canned Mushroom
So I tried to make power from the heat generated by the combustor. I know the GFG is more powerful but I need to make water and I need to cool it down so I figured I'd try to make use of the heat. I can't.
Then I'll go ahead and damage my lungs and die a couple of times. (My respawn point didn't work. What's up w/ that?)
This isn't a YOLO save so we have another skull to put on a shelf.

    Glitch the arc furnace halfway through the wall (the tubes must be outside), then you can equip it from the inside and also pick up the ingots.

    you can skip a block between the drills, it il lleave scarps on the ends of the drilling face, but you can get a much larger area with less heads.

      Thanks, yeah you're totally right. I usually prefer to just go back to back to get nice clean faces and reduce the chances of leaving doom voxels behind. If I'm tight for resources though, I'll definitely consider skipping a block.

    Fantastic drill setup. I am newish and always a bit annoyed at having to rebuild drills for a better reach. I was using this to tunnel out a startup base and got to a point where I wanted to turn a corner, them BOOM! Not entirely sure what blew up but I suspect it has something to do with me fiddling with the rotor offset. Time to rebuild.

      Was it multi-player? I think there's a known problem attaching rotors on multiplayer. I forget whether it's better to have them rotor locked or not in that case.

    If you have a projector on the projected path, which projects it'self then whenever the rig gets to the end it'll build a projector to present another segment. If you tell it not to keep projection then it'll shut off each one as it completes the path.

    With choosing to start with the large grid wreck rather than rebuilding a small grid, it is lucky you came across such a large grid to use for salvage. The only thing I might have conceived of to speed up the process is to replace the drills with a grinder and used the arm to salvage. Maybe temporarily placing a cockpit or control seat on back facing backwards to make it easier to control.

    • @PriorUniform721
      @PriorUniform721 Місяць тому

      Thanks. Yeah it was a pretty fortunate early find. I sometimes do the backward cockpit and/or backward Remote Control trick but I am not diligent enough about keeping the hotbars configured the same and end up doing something dumb when the inevitably end up out of sync.

    I like the design. Very effective, requiring minimal resources, and with minimal/near-zero risk of clang-related issues. I've grown fond of using the rotor attach/detach features coupled with pistons for such things over the last couple years, and the newer "Automatons" DLC blocks make automating things a breeze. 👍

After that i can get everything else working including Clang free rotor moves, but cannot get the stone to pass into the base. Ive used advance rotor head, but it shows as not connected. Any Ideas? Show it running, show the moving parts and controls while it's operating. Then you could do what you did here and build another one next to it and show us how to build it and get it going. I would rather prefer if it would lay through voxels but not through Blocks. Also if you build a connection with conveyor pipes you have also power transfering through which is useful.
