Weapon impacts need to sound like this again.
This was awesome!
What was there more of, Luster killing people or Holds being called?
This is still better than anything the ebon light can ever think of making lol
The skill in this video wouldnt get you past our trials. Ebon Light trials are earned, not given like we did in The Order. You couldn't fail an Order trial. Keep looking back through bitter lenses though.
@@capnpeej keep following traitors to hell old buddy.
@@midwesttempestapoc4178 you left with us man, then you left us. What does that make you?
@@capnpeej that's true. However, I left when I realized that it would never be the same. The Order judged men by their character as well as their ability. You're right, some were handed things. However, when I flew down to Florida to take a chance on you and rage, your leaders mocked you for being poor. They mocked your fighting ability. They despised you. I didn't.
@@midwesttempestapoc4178 i met you guys before you came to FL. Great thing is that time moves on and people grow. My best friend runs the unit and i love everyone in it. I hope you get over it one day.
I fight in a different larp but ive shown your video to my players you give great advice, thank you for making this video
This looks awful intense for dag
Do y’all get bruises in dag
I love watching you guys fight, I wish I had found Dagorhir earlier, however I still take inspiration from you all in the LARP my platoon mates and I created. heh besides the middle of Kansas is like a wasteland of no larps lol
I look forward to an Apprenticeship under Weaponmaster Dac, in Ataru, one day.
Dac? Is that you?
I love this. Well done Dac
Ragnarok 2018 I plan to teach a "7 Forms of Lightsaber Combat applied to Dagorhir" class, and the motions in this are a great deal of what I want to display for Ataru. The spins and fast attacks to overwhelm a guard are more the focus, but the practical use of tumbling for positioning, confusion, and evading are also great tools for the fast fighters who can make the movements work
Yo, I'm getting into q-staff fighting and I watch how you fight with them a lot. Would this concept be effective for the use of one?
Dude if you're doing Ataru I'm doing Djem So.
Seems like some legit Ataru movements and strikes. Well done.
Bad ass!
This is great, thank you for posting this. These covers so much, and he second video is a must watch as well.
4:30 this is what I do to spears 1v1 regardless of the weapon. Trap it between your legs and then sit just outside of their secondary's range and beat on them.
@@renjimalarky9185 WITH A CUP ON, PLEASE DAGORHIR, PROTECT THEM.
You answered my two questions first, and l don't think I could've been given better answers. I get crashed on nearly every fight in my realm, and still Need work on my lateral footwork. All l had come out with successfully was throwing a gravedigger or bash through a snb, but couldn't do anything with much success against another red. Grabbing the weapon seems obvious now, but it hadn't crossed my mind. And now l know I can go back to my football background and go for the lower leverage to truck through as well. As for the watershed question, I started off with a heavy weapon and lessons only from the era of heavy reds and haven't had much tutelage outside of that so it's been very hard to get handleblocks down. That drill seems like a perfect solution to rewriting my defense. Much appreciated, Dac.
Nicholas Serafinn Your very welcome!
Nicholas Serafinn Are you coming to wolfpack Ungen? If you want, I'll take some time to spar with you and work on footwork.
Is it me or does Dozer look like John Snow on a git swole fitness plan?
Awesome fights! For the staff, what is the width of the carbon fiber and what is the weight? Thinking of throwing one of these together myself., but I don't want to fail to flex. REPLY
Nick Tinko I was wondering if it was considered a red since it is two sided.
That staff Dac is using is currently on a prototype core. The weight is around 14 oz.
Bit a necro post, but whats with the lack of hand guards, Cross Guards or a Basket hilt would make more sense.
Fun drinking game , shot every time red umbrella shield girl snubs a hit
Dac has some entertaining commentary. It almost covers for his camera work.
Given my personal preference for historical sources to study from I am curious to see what I would fall into. I am consistently in a “power grip” but my feet and blade work tend towards tech.
love this vid. most combat videos i've seen are just mush but here you can really see what's happening, i.e. how the fight is unfolding
thank you sir!
what happened to 5? I can't find it anywhere
Lovin' all the combat videos on this channel!
that sick ass garb though
My style tends to be a hybrid of power and tech. Usually my footwork is power, but my blade manipulation is tech.
I am interested on making a dag group where i live. how can i start one? also was interested on how to build a red sword and shield that goes on ur back. plz and ty =)
guy in Brown at 1:59 anyone have tutorials on how to make his sword? haven't built anything successful before fair warning
This looks more like Sokan to me, which is, to a point, derived from Ataru.
if i'm correct you can bring a bow back with a healing prayer and same with a shield.
Oh shit its super red.
This looks a lot more like a gang initiation than a foam fighting sport. Yes, I know "special rules for the rank promotion". That seems really counter-productive when inter-realm events would banhammer you for repeatedly throwing punches and kicks at someone.
+Brandon Marcial Considering this happened 5 years ago, I can tell that now we are in hindsight, that did not happen. The trialers still reflect on this as one of the best moments they had in fighting, and this video is a very common community favorite. Ill admit I had your same concerns at first, but now looking back 5 years and listening to the folks who talked to me in regards to the video, this was a very positive impact to the fighting community.
Great movie, do you remember what song you used.
What is this quarterstaff made of? carbon fiber and some tubes on both ends?
Wondering the same thing. It looks like a lot of fun to use, but any staves I've seen have seemed bulkier and stuff.
Carbon fiber staff at 7ft.
What width CF and what is the weight? Thinking of throwing one of these together myself.
they are far more effective than people think. if you're a redsworder, q staff is easy... it's like hitting the enemy with the pommel finally lol
you make it look so easy
JESUS, this is where men are made. never fought with a red before usually s&b, loving the red style though
hey I'm planning on making a scythe for dagorhir, would it be classified as a red weapon?
If it's over 48 inches, yes. Any weapon over 48 inches will classify as red when swung two-handed.
your footage is awesome and you should feel awesome.
Name of song at 2:30-4:03 plz
[Nerd rant about how historical warhammers are basically one handed. ]
Im just getting into dagorhir. and I was curious if this is a thing any group can do or is it something that your group specifically does
Blew my mind at 11:13
saw some people who seemed like they didn't take shot's. one in particular was so clear it was outrageous. got hit spot on by the point of a javy in his arm and continued to use his red with both hands.
+chris cummens 5 yrs ago!
where did you get the orange and blk garb?
