9/2024: Good Day. Very Nicely Done. Educational & Interesting. Thank You. P.S. I really miss what MTV used to be. Sad Loss.
Hey larry, love watching all the old videos back again:) hope you n family are well mate.73
Yaesu cripples selectivity functionality in AM for reasons that escape me. I love every other aspect of my DX10. Icom does a better job there.
Just started working with a 991a harnessed to a Yeasu 120A, ATAS… nice pairing to open the sky. I use it from a 4WD SUV in unimproved locations. With this radio; I feel “equipped” to quickly handle distressed operators, when things go ary in the deep field and forest. The capability of this radio is broad and deep (modes, bands, and 100 Watts) I apreciate your help in teaching me so much about it’s capabilities. 73’s KC7ILS
Sorry my opinion your video didn't do a side by side comparison at all. You should had showed each radio going and flip coax switch from one radio to the other and back and forth showing comparison.
Awe Nicolai, what an HONOR to hear from YOU!! How’s your summer going my friend?
SORRY GANG! I MEANT TO SAY “Chris at BuddiPole” took great care of me in getting a brand new replacement spreader sent to me in three days. I highly recommend Chris’ BuddiHex. Incredible performance and extremely well built. Mines been up two years now. Even through each winter.
I am so sorry for missing this live show. Glad to watch it in post though. 73 from Romania!
I have the MFJ-998 and the Yaesu FTdx 101D. I haven;t bought an Amplifier yet. But could you explain how you connected your Ysesu FTdx 101D with the Tuner & Ameritron ALS 1306? Thanks! Regards, BobbyC W4BJC
I just got one. 👍
I dont hear any difference
I also have the Yaesu FTdx 101D. What interface cables did you use to connect the Ameritron 1306 to your Yaesu FTdx 101D? Thanks!!!
アンテナがダメなのでは?
what the story with this rubbish plastic on the screen
Very good explanation, I bought one and I am waiting for it to arrive, so in my case at the moment I have 2 antenna a vertical + a G5RV while now using the Alpha delta-2 switch box and currently a manual mfj 962e tuner! afterwards with the mfj 998 if I want it to memorize settings for both antenna I have to remove the switch box correct?
Good stuff! Thanks so much for providing some great insights into the 991a, and the Ray Charles outro brought a tear to my eyes.. god bless from WW3DX
i was usaf ground radio repair. We maintained the KWM/2A for MARS Radio back to the states, over.
I have a Shure 55 from to early 1960s, which my grandfather purchased then to use with a Crown tape recorder. The frequency response of the old 55 is definitely much worse than the new ones. I use an AKG P220.
So I wonder if the criminal communist government DF's these folks and then apprehends and puts them in prison. They are obviously desperate to keep a lid on communications. Communism is a plague folks. Careful who you vote for.
Greetings from Sweden! You,Sir, just got yourself a new subscriber 🎉
Great explanation
Try a software called RM Noise. You will be amazed at what it does for noise.
Hey Larry. Been a long time. Hope your well. AG7XH
Hey Joseph! Gosh, it’s great to hear from you again! How have you been?
@@HamRadioLiveShow not bad. Trying to find a nice travel trailer to move my wife and 3 foster kids into for a year or so while we build a barndominium. My daughter and her husband have 5 foster kids that recently lost their parents. They had bullets fly over their heads while waiting for the school bus. So, I told them they can move into my house and I’ll build something. We will build at a rate we can afford and see what happens. So hopefully we can find a nice bunkhouse travel trailer really soon. I’ll try to catch a live soon.
@@HamRadioLiveShow so if you know anyone wanting to sell a travel trailer, preferably with 3 bunks in the back, let me know. Has to be a good deal though.
Thanks Larry! My Uncle Jack (N6JK) served on the USS Midway during the Korean war.
The Midway is such an iconic ship. Wow! I would’ve loved to have heard the stories he could tell!
I have had MFJ products in my shack since I was 13 years old. At 53 I just wanted to say how saddened I am to say good bye to such an old friend whom I've until this point taken for granite. Like salt n pepper they have always been on my table.
You can't 'Test" in quality
It's only the "FLU"
I love Ham radio, wb5oxq since 1974. I love AM too but use modern equipment.
I got a 735 on the shelf collecting dust, maybe waiting for a chance to get on the air again lol. Even has the bottom plastic cover still.
We don’t have to see you too listen to you show.
So sad to see them go.👎🇬🇧
OA4DSS 73
Maybe a991A will fit in that shack
NIce test!
Most of my mfj stuff was aquired used but ive got no problem with it. Will miss all the miscelaneous items.
It's a shame to see the demise of any company in the ham hobby, however, MFJ's lack of quality control has doomed them for many years to the point of no person/company will commit to acquiring them...Martin is a terrific person but MFJ as a whole is sort of second rate company as of late...shame really
We will agree to disagree here. I have a lot of MFJ gear. I’ve had a problem with one item. I sent it back (on their dime) and they fixed it and shipped it back to me free. They stood behind the product. What more could I ask for? Also, it’s far from true that “no one wanted to buy them.” They were close to having the company sold to DX Engineering. Perhaps that sale does end up coming to fruition. Perhaps a last-minute deal will still come to fruition with them or possibly with their employees pulling together a plan to keep them open. But I believe this is a warning bell to all of us to try to purchase something NEW from amateur radio manufacturers. if this could kill MFJ… It’s definitely causing strain on other companies as well. we should support the people who are in business. There’s not as many licensed amateurs in the world as they used to be. Hope you are well Fred. My best to you and yours. Larry
I’ve never had a problem with any of the MFJ products I’ve bought over the years..
Me too
Bill… sorry buddy! You were missed too.
👍🏻 Shoot! I missed the notification. Team Replay for me!
Roger DARN IT!! We missed you my friend.
The noise there needs to be addressed. Call the power company and tell them to get that corrected. If they push back, let them know your next call is the FCC. They will come fix it. : )
Great presentation. I have owned MFJ Antenna Tuners, Ameritron AL-82 Amplifier, Cushcraft 80 vertical, and other goodies. MFJ did repairs when I needed it with no issues. I have nothing but great memories of MFJ. It's really sad what happened, but who knows, there may still be other happenings later on. Best wishes to all of the MFJ personnel including Martin Jue. 73, Rich, W2FKN
