If you're into butterflies, you might want to visit the LA PAZ PLAZA in La Paz District. Theres a Butterfly Garden over there, and also a Koi fish pond with an aeration fountain. Ir also has a public tennis park , football field, a basketball and volleyball court.

Hi Terry. Subscriber here. I've only seen a few of your videos. I can relate to your situation. I;v been here 5 years, 72 now (on Cebu island) in the province. When I first got here , only had a limp from a hip going bad. Long story short , I'm now using a cane, both hips shot and only able to crip around short distances. No long walks , climbing , nothing like that. Got a laundry list of other pre existing conditions , that are managed. It's the mobility issue that may have the most effect on quality of life IMO. Still driving the car just fine, (although the paperwork and dr. licence isn't all up to date lol). I'm sure my Filipina wife would be happier if we were able to do more. Take care

I have a question my friend! The name of the city means love? And I have another question if you can answer it! How is it that the Filipinos in general have a loving disposition and happy disposition!? Do you think it's in their blood and DNA😊 also it's a learned behavior if it's taught by each and every generation personally I've never been there yet but I think it's a combination of both what do you think I think it's in the blood but I know that dispositions can change in this world depending on the circumstances but the Filipinos seem to be happy I see videos of the slum areas the very poor everything but the people are always making the best of it it's amazing and here in the states it can be very depressing just for me to go to town to see the robot people no one's smiling I feel so out of place

City of Love because Ilonggos or People in Iloilo are very loving, friendly and soft spoken, Iloilo is located in the Island of Panay, if you check the Philippine map it's located in the center, it looks like the heart of the country that's why the entire Iloilo province is actually called the Heart of the Philippines and the capital city is the City of Love. There's more, originally Iloilo is the Queen City of the South, second to Manila back then, but due to its economic slow down the status was grabbed by Cebu, the self proclaimed Queen City today. But here's something not known to many and it will surely surprise the world in the coming days... Iloilo will soon be officially declared as the real Queen City because it's the place of origin of the single largest source of funds in the world, the Rodriguez Trust, it will help the 209 countries with their currency backed with Gold so they can print money, it will also be used for humanitarian assistance and fund big projects globally. Those who are in Iloilo you made the right choice. With the soon status of Iloilo many will migrate, but before it becomes over populated with foreigners migration will be closed when that time comes.

The Israeli Jews are contemplating in considering ILOILO as their destination migration country. During the early 1900s many Europeans, including Jews from around the world , had already been living in Iloilo, and including Americans who governed the Philippines as a commonwealth government. At this time also since the late 1800s, about 42 British families were already living in Iloilo such that it's most popular British resident, Nicholas Loney, who was engaged in the sugar industry in Iloilo and Negros, and was also importing textiles and other goods from Europe, was appointed British Vice Consul for Iloilo. He summond his nephew, Mr. Hoskyn, over to Iloilo. Mr Hoskyn then opened the first fixes price department store in the Philippines, the Hoskyn's Department store. Today, 2024, it's beautiful Art Deco building still exists in ILOILO CITY. Sir Nicholas Loney is honored as the Father of the Sugar Industry in ILOILO and is honored with his own Square with monument and his above life-size statue at the street named after him, Muelle Loney, which stretches for about a mile beside the scenic Iloilo River frin the new Iloilo City Hall at Plaza Libertad to the Iloilo Provincial Capitol grounds at Bomifacio Drive. Today , many if the descendants of these Jewish, British, Swiss, German, American, Spanish, Mexican, French, etc of families still sport their original family names and have distinguished themselves in ILOILO society.

Hello my friend you know I notice everything is so Americanized that scares me cuz if I come to the Philippines I want to get away from America:-)😅 and they're pushing the next holiday in advance😮 they seem to do that all around the world they do that here in the states it's rather agitating because it's just a a commercial ploy to encourage people to spend more money that's all it is😮 I would have liked to come to the Philippines 40 years ago I'd have been 28 it would have been perfect and things would have been much more traditional and that's what I love the old ways

I think things are still more traditional in the Philippines especially in Iloilo. Try to live or get invited to a Filipino family Christmas gathering because family Christmas gatherings are still traditional. It's only the settings that are modern. But the neighborhoods are still the same no matter how modern. There are still neighborhood carollings by children or by groups; dawn Misa de Gallo church novenas are still very much traditional. The Misa de Gallo dawn Masses especially in JARO CATHEDRAL in ILOILO CITY has traditional Latin Christmas songs l, very very classic Spanish Filipino Christmas. Try to attend these December dawn Misas de Gallo at the JARO CATHEDRAL. Only in JARO CATHEDRAL are songs still in Latin. It's like going back to the Spanish era of the 1800s. After the daily dawn Mass, traditional hot Tahu ginger drink with Pan de Sal is distributed to the Massgoers.

Thank you my friend haven't been here in a while on your Channel😊 I've never flown out of the US but I've been thinking about the Philippines for the last 4 years. I've given quite a bit of money out, even though I'm a pretty poor guy to the Philippines. The few I know in the Philippines pretty much ask for money.I give spiritual support a lot of times teach people how to pray and teach them who Jesus is! because they have mucho problems and I'm only able to help so much. I'm 68 and broke my back in 1995 and found myself paralyzed and in a helicopter heading for Milwaukee where I spent 7 weeks in the hospital😮 well with the Lord's help a little over a year later I was out painting Barns and houses again and making a living on a 40 ft ladder!😮 ,.I'm still paralyzed but I'm a semi paraplegic. then the wife abandoned me 14 years ago after being together for since I was 17 😢. anyways life is a trip. I'm still riding motorcycle I have a fake Indian 1948 Indian chief😅😊 but I have given away at least a few thousand dollars maybe it's more than that I don't keep record ,but I know that I've got a bucket full of Western Union receipts. I know I can't take $1 with me to heaven,, but at the same time I wish I would have made more money in this life now.!!! I never cared much for the stuff.. PS with all that green grass around and if I was living there in the countryside I couldn't help thinking maybe I would get me a small horse again if I could keep it cheap! because of the abundance of feed grass I see all around grazing,,,, and use it to head up those mountain roads ! and paths! exploring....😊... me going to catch a cold one somewhere Or te go swim:-) Maybe in a year's time I would have a fiance riding on the back with me!🎉 Are there any horses around that province?. Thanks be safe.

Terry, while you're out and about during your day. If you could keep an eye out for some rental apartments, homes etc. Heading that way in 20 days once my lease is up. Nothing fancy $300.00 a month (ballpark figure) wet/dry market with a bikes ride would be nice,. Or recommend a good condo short term rental till I can get out and look for myself. But boots on the ground always finds the best places. Thanks again. Even after 6 years I still shake my head and wonder if that lemon I just bought was really 14 pesos??

I agree with what you say about communication. I've found many who like my Filapina wife can read and understand the written word but have a lot of trouble speaking it. To pronounce words correctly you have to hear the words over and over. Therefore, learning to read English and understand what you're reading is one thing but to correctly speak the words takes a lot of practice. Wish I could learn the local language but I just can't.

I think you are getting worked by the Locals. I learned the way of the culture by making friends with the men. Not your girlfriend's friend or family, but a separate man or an older woman. You then will find out if they give you advice. Don't play dumb. Ask them to contrast the differences. Also, ask your friend about an old story they all learn when kids. The story of the monkey and the turtle. Once you understand that story. You will understand the communications. You will appreciate the culture. The real culture. It is different from the US. Also, they like to have secrets. I love them and they are different. You need to go to some local restaurants. They have a dry adobo there. I wish i was there.

Hello, Terry. There's American English, there's British English, standard English, etc. Then there's "Filipino English". When speaking with Filipinos, use Filipino English, i.e., enunciate slowly and talk in short sentences. 😊

They frown on that! The reason they frown on going outside is because they have VERY strict rules at Philippines hospitals! You ARE a prisoner there until you pay your bill in full! They literally and purposely will not remove your I.V. Until you have paid your bill in Full!

This is the Robinson's Place-Pavia Mall which is the third Robinson's mall in Metro Ilollo. It is also im my perception the biggest and most beautiful Robinson's mall in Metro Ilollo. Its also the Rob mall that i like best, aside from Robinson's Place-Jaro mall, among the 3 Rob malls in Iloilo. There are three tall all glass clad Cybergate bpo/IT/Call center towers at the back , very New Yorkish in architecture and glass cladding materials. Very beautiful. There are two more malls beside here - the Citimall and the GT Plaza Mall just across the 6-lanes Diversion Road here in Pavia. About 10 minutes away by tricycle is the VistaMall which has 4 luxurious movie theaters and a second floor supermarket that can rival Rustan's in its supermarket shells. At the Pavia town Poblacion are an SM Savemore supermarket and a Puregold supermarket. At the opposite end of the Plaza from Puregold is the Parish church of Santa Monica, a century-old all red brick church. At the back is the Plazuela Tres. Beside it is the convent of the Mensa Domini Sisters.

The sole is coming apart at the front, which is probably due to some changes made to the sandals rather than a manufacturing issue. My friends know altering your sandals usually voids the warranty.

Just subscribed you have great talent. Considering buying 2018 Expedition in exccond. Hope my $1200 offer be acceptable. Wanting assistance with installing motor. I’m 6’ @ 155lbs would like to install and utilize motor for e-assisting petaling or rely on it full time. Will be checking eBay for best deal on a motor (which brand would you recommend ) then look for install assistance

Thanks …. That would be be a nice trike I had two expeditions … motor wise I’m a big fan of hub drive direct drive ….. I had crystal light motor …… I would recommend lots of research and talk with several companies…. Then buy what u think works best for what u want to do with it …. Good luck with your build …. To me getting parts and support for your build is very important … especially when u need repair….

Your making a comeback. The big city is cool. So you developed some street smarts. Right? Hopefully. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way but now you are at the next ever. Your smarter now. Enjoy..
