This is the technique I use to block all my hats. It evens out decreases at the crown and gives it a nicely rounded top that drapes well. The steaming technique works well with any fiber, including acrylic. You could also just use the ball for wet blocking if you're using natural fibers.

I learned this way of Continental purling after watching a Russian knitter. I could never find a good video of this, so I decided to make my own. Much easier than any other purling method I've found. I hope this helps you!

    The cables really popped after steaming! I had never seen steaming done over a ball so this is very helpful. Faster too!

    So it’s not the light where is the fuse for the light

      This is the lightbulb replacement. If you want the fuse you’ll have to look in the fuse box under the hood or in the dash. Not sure which one it’s in.

    Thanks for sharing, hope you didn’t strip the screw since we didn’t see you take it all the way out? Also, instead of disengaging the wire, maybe just twist it out from the get-go, one less step? Hope it worked out well for you, didn’t get to see reassembly

      Oh good catch! I didn’t even think about leaving the wire attached! The screw was fine… this was a last minute video I made and had to hold my phone with one hand so it’s not super top quality. 😂

    What if we don't have a steamer? Can we just boil a pot of hot water and use the steam from that?

      Sorry just saw your comment. If you don’t have a steamer you can also use steam from an iron, just make sure you don’t touch the iron to your fabric.

    Can you please share what yarn and pattern you used for this hat? It's gorgeous!

      This is the Snappy Hat by Corrina Ferguson from Picnic Knits. It's one of my favorite patterns! I used Red Heart Unforgettable Boutique yarn in the Petunia colorway, held double. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/snappy-hat

      @@karenhanson4207 thank you!! What does "held double" mean? (I'm new to knitting)

    • @karenhanson4207
      @karenhanson4207 3 роки тому

      @@catg5169 it means you work with 2 strands of yarn at the same time. I basically took one ball of this yarn, divided it into 2 equal balls, then held both strands together to make the bulky weight yarn called for in the pattern.
