Why is this area called Jenny Lind?

Brings back so many memories, I had a few in the treble 2 and on carntyne road you passed my old house and my old local shops.

Thanks for this I lived in Cathkin and had a lot of mates that lived in Springhall so spent my teenage years hanging around those streets. It hasn't really changed much in 50 years since I left to go to Canada, even the old football cage is still there, good memories kicking a ball in there. Cheers

Went round parts of high end Ruchazie I had never been before. I visited a few years ago the buildings all changed. Was only able to navigate the streets, because the road layouts were the same.

I took a walk through some of these areas I knew so well as a kid in the early 60's, and teenager in the 70's, from the bright spanking new houses I remember with friendly neighbours, its now a dark gloomy sh*thole where you wouldn't want to walk in the dark. BTW it can't be a Saturday morning, some people are up, maybe not washed but at least they're up!

Tell you something, I've just noticed how many sign printing businesses there is in Glasgow. Just who is it that's wanting all these signs printed thats keeping all these sign printing businesses going?

I never had much occasion to go to Hillington. This visit is probably enough to be going on with. I'm thinking Hillingdon in London makes much the same impression on me. Good to have these videos still available for viewing.

To think Dennistoun was the home of rich merchants and tobacco barons the nick of those roads wow .Very desirable was Dennistoun years ago.Fly tipping pubs shut ,pawn shops ,charity shops ,off licences Duke st 40 years ago was so much nicer it was full of good shops when i grew up in it.

Coming up from the Mull locations, this is our nearest town. It has mostly what anyone would need and everything else can generally be available within a couple of days..
