Thanks for posting the video (2 years ago!). Still relevant and useful. I am trying to cut a straight edge on a narrow piece of wood (3"). I only need to shave 2/8" off both sides, but It's tricky and I haven't worked that one out yet. Oh, and no table saw, but have a jig saw and a circular saw. Thanks again for posting the video and taking the time to make it.

Whoever is looking to square a board don’t use the method in this video instead lay a level on the side against the a table saws rip fence and but your piece of stock beside the level and start your cut

Absolute rubbish! There is a reason the teeth on the blade are 'set' at a particular cutting angle. You don't even register as amateur.

Is this the best and safest way to do this? I’ve been trying to sand a taper into strips on the belt sander and it takes way too much time and effort and too much sawdust. I’m new to the table saw though so I’m hoping this is a good option for me.

I love Danish oil, it's my go-to for many simple projects. Also doesn't require prestain conditioner, one less step to worry about.

Yeah... this doesnt work. Carbide can only be shapened by diamond and sandpaper is too soft.

I tried to cut the edged of a board with 45 degree angle, 1st. my clamps holding my guide got in the way. 2nd. the end of the cut tore off because the end was unsupported, but that's how all the other UA-cam videos show it. done. they have the wood dangling off the edge of a platform on a sawhorse and let it drop, so I did the same and the very end came off before the cut finished and ruined the cut. YOu are the first to say that the whole cutting surface should be supported. I dont' have any sacrificial board as I only bought what I needed. I guess I'm screwed on this project from the start. Thanks for showing the correct way. Too bad I didn't find it till AFTER I made a bad cut.

How do you stain wood filler --- if you don't want to stain the entire floor? There are gouges in my hardwood floor. I want to stain wood filler so the color matches, then insert the wood filler.

I love the simplicity of these videos. My sacrificial wood is dusted off and Amazon are bringing my Dewalt circular saw today to begin my wood flooring. I’m feeling trepidatiously confident so any tips, including using the dewalt guide fence with 20mm tongue and groove appreciated, as my very first circular saw cut EVER needs to be a 7cm engineered board rip😅 😥
