MagViewing Nature. A day of Bird Watching, Deer, Kingfisher, Blue Heron, Turtle, Ducks, and Nutria.
Using the MagView Digiscoping adaptor (magviewgear.com/), I was able to view and capture video using my phone camera. Although many serious nature viewers will use an expensive DLSR camera, the MagView digiscoping adaptor allows a cellphone to be attached to a spotting scope or a set of binoculars so that birdwatchers and nature lovers can view and share what they see by viewing through their cell phone screen.
That makes MagView a great viewing tool and, when footage is to be saved, a recording tool as well.
Digiscoping is a fun hobby and something that can be done when someone is enjoying the outdoors. Be sure to like and subscribe, as I will be posting more footage from that day and other practical uses for the MagView Digiscoping adaptor, as well as tips and tricks for capturing and editing footage.
Gear used. Maven S.3A - 20-40X67, Camera Phone, and Slik Carbon Fiber Tripod.
One of the nicest things about digiscoping with the MagView digiscoping adaptor is sharing the experience with friends and family.

    This thing is a piece of junk. Weak Chinese junk magnet that doesn't even come close to holding my phone in position. The only way it works is in the 6 o'clock position so my nose slams into the cap the entire time. The hinge is also cheap and doesn't support a phone causing the phone to extend the hinge past 180 degrees and making it not line up perpendicular. What a piece of crap

    Mine kept coming off by itself. I think because my bino case has a magnet. Then first trip out this season it fell out in the bush. So disappointing

    So you can essentially choose from the multiple lenses that exist in phones today eg wide angle or main lens, etc. ?

    • @magviewgear
      @magviewgear Місяць тому

      Yes by not using the app. The main purpose of the app is to lock the lens and provide a guide to attach it, but if you bypass the app you can lock the lens you want to use. With a little practice, it's not that hard to line up the lens to the optic. ua-cam.com/play/PL2l0mCNQ_QiNAGzbi80aKoQa33VRVY4L5.html

    This dosnt work worth a crap if you wear glasses on the swarovski atx. Once installed it hinders your eye peice from moving inward... tried to get ahold of the company via email with no response...don't recommend this product to anyone due to the fact they should have caught this issue In testing...

    Just curious about one thing. On the website it describes the plate as stainless. Magnets don’t stick to stainless, so I was wondering how did you guys pull that off? Is it just a steel plate that’s been coated, sealing it from rust and stains? Or was that just a misprint?

    Great concept but trying to get the system to align every time is a bit of a hassle. Also the magnets do not stay on the camera. Although it’s a strong magnet it comes off my phone multiple times. Need some quick tech tips here as I think this could be a great system and so far it’s not up to par for my set up thanks

    With the binos in a chest rig won’t the magnet mess up a compass? Have to hold the compass way out infront of you? I got rid of a badlands chest rig that had magnet closures it never worked using a compass. Which sucks. Cool product you have tho

    If I attach the plate to the phone UNDER my rubber Otter case, will it still stick? Or would it be better to stick it to the Otter case itself?

    • @magviewgear
      @magviewgear 2 роки тому

      The Phone Plate would be more effective on the outside of your case. This would work underneath a thinner case, but since most Otter Box cases are rather thick, going directly to the outside would work best!
