Despite the poor first placement you still could’ve won. No idea why u wanted to race black there 3:10:11 point left leaves u so much room, u always win the race to 5:4:11 and have pretty much uncontested road

at 20:18, should take the settle and use yop for couple of devs instead of using it for road settle. your win condition was army and it wasn't out of reach that time.

Unfortunately the wheat rolls didn't come after you settled on the port. Taking this into consideration 83 would've been the better settle, not to give it to red and going for 12 wheatport afterwards. But of course we dont know that upfront.

just before watching you place, I paused and placed myself. I would simply lock up the brick on this board. I would go 6 3 4 and 3 8 10

I agree with the first plow to the 695. Don't agree with the 2nd plow for a few reasons: 1) You actually want blue to share the gold tile because it is one less player that will block it and one more player that will defend it with knights etc. 2) You have limited roads and the 89 ore port is amazing for you. You become unblockable/beatable after getting the 89.

Oh well. Better luck next time.

Also: remember "Less is more!" when it comes to table talk. In my opinion you talk waaaaaaaaayyy too much in the group chats in ranked matches. I highly recommend you watch HakunaMatata's video "The Chilling Effect" here on UA-cam and how it applies to Catan. The abbreviated version is that when you overdo the table talk or have a perceived attitude at the table, it annoys the other players and make them disinclined to trade with you from the on at best, to flat-out robbing you just out of spite or annoyance at worst. Obviously HakunaMatata explains it much better than I can and there's far more to it than just that, but the point is too much table-talk can really backfire on your game like it did this one where players were just robbing you not because you were the biggest threat, but because you really got on their nerves.

19:42 I would have plowed Black to the 2:1 wheat port over buying a dev card at this moment by either asking for wheat-for-wood trades or doing 3:1 trades to the bank for wood with your wheat. You've got to decrease Black's variance right there.

I'm surprised there was no sense of urgency or mention in the group chat mid-game about the potential Longest Road situation up until the point you brought it up: where Orange and Red each had a road length of four at the time and, with Orange likely having two down VPs, potentially sneaking a win with one more point and building one road. If I were Red I would have extended to the 9/12 ASAP.

You could have placed your second settlement on 5 11 4 and point right you might have started with a road in hand and you could easily get to 8 4 3 later... IDK why you have not considered that

You have a tendency to play scared with your starting roads. Always point at the ore port here. And placing 1154 right for your second placement is stronger as well.

That trade with orange should have happened. You road settle on brick port and play a knight to get pacing

If you were worried about the plow on the wood port you could have started 9/10/11 instead of 9/4/11, some production but protects your expansion.

I like 5810 with 834. My reasons are high production (22), uncontested 31 and ore port. Best OWS and the 4 ore is not shared so less likely to get blocked. Side by side also gives you road connect possibilities. The downside of your setup is you have no ore production and your port is the ore port.

5810 OWS or the 693 were the two picks to consider imo. For 695 double sheep to work, the 3-1 port on the 912 is mandatory. If you calculate that 912 will be taken, why did you decide on the 569 would be my question.
