💯 I couldnt agree more. K-12 definitely need positive role models. Our kids here in SW Detroit don't see many Success stories. Once girls hit high school they only concerned about a boy... and boys only worried about slangin' that quick money. I had a child tell me on a field trip: "I only come to school for the free lunch". To see potential drain out of so many kids, is heartbreaking & I see it every year. If it weren't for a teacher in JROTC, I'd be de-d or in Prison. I pray for these kids.

I think if you do get paid, your pay should be equivalent to your skillset and dedication, just like with any other job. I think we also need to keep in mind that not everyone can play instruments. Chris could serve an usher one day in a pickle. I don't know everyone at Deliverance Center but if Chris is gone, can one of their ushers hop on and replace him? Probably not. So there's that aspect that being a minstrel in many ways is a specialized gift. If your church can afford it and they are going to get what they pay for, I don't see the issue. Now with singers, although it's still a specialized gift (not everyone can do it), there's probably more people who can sing than there are people who can play an instrument. If your praise and worship leader is taking vocal lessons to say sharp, listening to different songs and dissecting notes and lyrics for musical and spiritual accuracy, running multiple rehearsals throughout the week etc. etc. then sure pay them. But again, the heart posture needs to be right, your dedication needs to be right, the skillset needs to match etc. etc....we're not paying our organist to play in the wrong key. They can let me do that for free lol

Please pray for me and my daughters, 10yo and 13yo. My 10yo is having nightmares and my 13yo seems to be under spiritual attack. It is wearing on me. We need help.

It’s not always easy to forgive but when you realize that unforgiveness makes you the prisoner you have to let it go. It also affects your health. Forgiveness frees your spirit so you can hear from God.
