Dont be afraid to give it some revs before moving from a stop. It's always better to give it a little too much gas than to stall or bog the engine down. Eventually you'll get the hang of applying just the right amount of gas. Also the jerky motion you feel during upshifts is due to you going too fast in 1st gear and letting out the clutch pedal too quickly. Try shifting into 2nd at a lower speed and let the clutch out slower as well.

That must of been hard especially on the first try.

1st to 2nd gear is harsher because of the gear ratio is big, so more torque amplified(physics stuff). Also loose bushing will shake the car more. To reduce that harshness, try let the rev down a bit before fully releasing the clutch. ofc practice makes it better.

You got to reset the oil change on the vehicle settings on the menu buttons
