I bought this kit when it first came out in 1997, at a time when AMT was putting out some really impressive kits, and I still have it, painted in this exact color scheme, to this day. Hand painted inside and out using I believe a Testors blue.

Don't know how I missed this video when you originally released it, but your Impala SS video prompted me to search for your 1960s Pontiac builds and I was excited to this 1962 Catalina. We were a Pontiac family and had a 1962 4 door Catalina. Blue on Blue with the 389 V8. I was too young to drive this car--as I wasn't old enough to get my license until 1969, at which point I could drive the new Catalina..thank god we didn't wait a year for the 1970 model...yikes! In any case, your build is a beauty.. love it!

1965-69. The second half of the turbulent 60s but what a great era for American cars--IMHO. Of course I may be looking back with rose colored glasses--I was in jr high and high school back then and everything was an adventure. I love that build of yours--the 4th generation Impala was a neat car and I liked it almost as much as my favored Pontiacs. 😉 Cheers.

Nice build! I was a little worried it would not make it over the first obstacle, but it eventually did in very dramatic fashion. It is a really neat kit, like you said simple, but interesting.
