My name is Lauren. This channel is how I have been learning to fish throughout Jacksonville Florida and on vacations. Surf fishing, inshore fishing and fresh water fishing. My main goal is to catch whiting, red fish, pompano, flounder and sheepshead.
Stingray, whiting, pompano and a sand dollar!
Fishing using pompa rigs in murky water. Sometimes you catch quality fish and sometimes you spend the day cashing them. The stingray was my first catch of the day. Follow by a slew of catfish… I left the area after about two hours into fishing.
My next area was a little more fruitful. I caught a handful of whiting and two undersized pompano that were released. On our way home I found a beautiful, whole, sand dollar. It’s rare for Jacksonville to have bleached sand dollars on the beach. I left it there for someone else to have and appreciate.

My friend from North Carolina came down and we did surf fishing in Jacksonville, FL. Both redfish were caught 1/2 way through outgoing tide on fresh dead shrimp. We used double drop rig, fish bites and Sputniks sinkers (from the Sinker Guy). #fishing #ladyangler #beach #florida #redfish

Fishing in Jacksonville, the water is not always the cleanest. I used fresh dead shrimp and a couple different presentations on my pompa rig. I found the trough and run out. Then used my two poles to figure out which side of the trough 5he fish were. We set out to target #reddrum and #blackdrum. We found the schools! We were #fishing a few hours of incoming #tides to first few of outgoing. I’ve been want to try throwing artificials at the beach and was able to get a couple nibbles. I wasn’t able to land any, using a 1oz jig head. Catching a Shark

We used some cut whiting that we previously caught that day. Tossed it out in hopes of a bull red or a shark. We hooked into about a 4’ shark. The line was popped to help ensure a safer, quicker release for the shark. #florida #beach #fishing #shark

We caught five #pompano , the largest being 16-1/2”. Quite a few #whiting and had a visit from an #egret . There were #ladyfish as well as some blacktip sharks not featured in this video. All were caught on pompano rigs, using fresh dead shrimp. They were tipped with #fishbites coquina, shrimp and blue crab scents. #fishing #surffishing #beach #florida

We took the e-bikes out to a local beach to test out our artificial lures. We found a few rocks and got to work. I hooked into a flounder using #fishbites chartreuse dirty boxer with a chartreuse 1/4oz jig head. The flounder hit in an opening of the rocks and measured 14-1/2”. Trying to help get the gear out of the way and made a stupid choice. I tossed the pompano rig with a weight at the bottom. Once it got tossed, the bottom drop caught my ring finger! #fishing #hooked #fail

Black drum. When they’re smaller they have more defined black stripes and are called puppy drums (14” and smaller).
