Try this on a BMW that has aluminum bolts 😂. Even though those are "one time use only", I still reuse aluminum bolts. Aluminum doesn't like to be stretched so you just lower the torque applied to the bolt

If you can see what you're trying to get hold of, then the claw style grabbers (used to be called 'pearl catchers', due to their ability to pick up spherical objects) are often far superior. If you're extracting an Elephant's graveyard of dropped fasteners from inside a fibreglass box structure, then the magnet wins every time.

Fitted a very similar Bilstien set up for Gladys a couple of years ago to replace the worn out OEM on my 82 GL. Yep, the rears sat a tad high for a few weeks, but have settled down now, the new rubber bushings I put in added 10/15mm over the old crushed ones too so nothing to worry about long term. Love the vid, and your sense of humour, keep it up, great looking Rocco too 👍🇬🇧

I too acquired one of these with little knowledge of Lomax or Citroen 2CVs - you will have to get used to Citroen's odd engineering, as well as working out what the kit builder got right or wrong. The good news is that yours appears to be on a replacement chassis, and that it is correctly registered. Some form of anti-roll is recommended, as it makes the handling better, and if stiff enough, completely eliminates any need for linked rear suspension. You have a lot of work ahead of you, but it will be worth it - I still enjoy mine after 27 years of ownership.

Lower spring cups upside down on the rear😅😅 I did look through the comments to see if anyone else noticed, glad you found it. The dome part is meant to sit up inside the spring to keep it located on the cup, explains why it is so high on the rear a well.

I thought coil overs were adjustable, Was there no thread left to raise them? A longer single rate spring instead of the two springs (one stiff one soft) would probably give a better ride on the coil over dampers. The soft spring looks like it is wasting all the adjustability and just compressing to the point of being coil bound before the stiff spring gets to do anything.

Now I'm just wondering when the next episode is :p I'm assuming you're not aiming to make this the internet's newest longest project

My Dad built one of these in the 80s and as a kid I helped (a bit). His was more standard than yours, Dark Green colour, all the engine cooling ducts removed, chrome straight through exhaust system with a cherry bomb, Original 2CV gear lever and the flared wings rather than cycle ones, aero screens and tonneau cover only, inboard disc brakes. At the time the best seats to fit were Renault 5 items which were plentiful back then, ours were black vinyl which was good for rainy days. A factory option ours had was a bar welded across the rear suspension arms so despite having one wheel, it used both suspension sides to provide support. Good luck, these are fun to drive if somewhat alarming!

Mainly a Toyota guy here, but dipping back into the Volkswagen world via Scirocco interest, and found your channel. Love the car and presentation in the videos. Good choice with these white wheels. The MK3 Supra I had also had a set of white wheels which were a good match too. 👍
