I Remade Super Mario World In 3D
Переглядів 151 тис.Рік тому
Following nostalgia and my weird game dev ideas, I decided to take one of my childhood favorites and reimagine it in today's Unity. I took some inspo from other creators and put my personal touch on this. It isn't the first attempt at this with a Mario game but I think it is up there in detail! 0:00 - Intro 1:14 - Figuring out the art 3:59 - Making Mario's movement 6:25 - Level design 7:45 - En...
Revisiting Destiny
Переглядів 2023 роки тому
I used to pour hours into Destiny, It was probably one of my favorite experiences in games. Destiny 2 came out and I played it for a little while, but sort of just fell out of it. I'm excited to give it a shot again, there's a lot of content here! This channel is sort of morphing into interesting gaming coverage across all genres. If you're looking to check out a game you haven't seen before, b...

How can i play on mobile
Now make 3d world in 2d
Great work man. Go where your heart takes you. Whatever feels fun do it. I'm an artist and I've worked on voxel remakes of old games but never got to the development part. The irony is that your lack of experience as an artist is what allows you to skip to the next step and actually make the game. Check out videos from Cheello, I learned a lot from him. He has a step by step process that makes copying from 2D sprites methodical and I do think will help make it easier for you. Otherwise, I'm sure the longer you do this stuff the more voxel artists will jump on board and help out. Perhaps once you master some remakes and have some artists on board you can build an original game but I think the first step is to drum up excitement while you build your channel and then attract artists in through their excitement for bringing these classics back to life.
Great words of advice dude, I appreciate the thoughts!
How has nintendo not sued you yet lmao That's awesome though!
hahahaha the day will probably come eventually
instead of making games 3d, make MARIO 64 2D
You may not believe me but I have thought of doing literally exactly that video lol

Ok smw
Nice game of super Mario world in 3d
so retro
Awaiting part 2 ;)
This is awesome! I appreciate all of the processes in game building and would love to watch the level building. For me it's therapeutic
Hey thanks! Good to know, please share it around!
Nice effort, but the Minecraft art style looks awful! Good effort, anyway.
Not sure I agree with that considering my last video but you do you! Thanks!
That Link model looks great. Cool project, you're doing some good work here, man.
This is awesome dude, I love what you've done so far! Can't wait for the next instalment
Thank you! Share it around!
Nintendo DMCA takedown notice coming in 3... 2... 1... But without kidding, if you release it to the public, you should do it via torrent. Ideally you would get "hacked" and the "hacker" would so unfortunately release it to the public. So. Un. Fort. Unate. If you catch my drift ;)
Hahaha well I made a video like this about super Mario world last year and it’s still up, hopefully I’m safe! Lol I catch your drift!
What was stopping you from making the sword a part of the model? Just askin
Great question, becuase in the original, link does not have his sword visible unless he attacks. So to make it as close to that game his idle and walking models should not have a sword with them.
@@jespertrip17 no I completely understand that. But what I need is not keep the sword for the walking animation. I mean just draw a sword for his attack animation instead of bringing in a second model.
@@jespertrip17I mean the solution you went with works but what I'm saying is just add a sword to links model for that animation. Like if this was a 2D drawing, You could get a second Sprite of a sword and put it over his hand. Or you could just take his actual original Sprite and draw a sword in his hand and not need to import a secondary Sprite. (Especially since you already drew him swinging his arm) The first option is the second one with more steps. This is why I was asking why you went with that option. (The same rule applies in 3D in your case)
Your solution might work. When looking at it from a programming point of view though, it is a good practice to decouple things so they aren’t always attached when having to perform some kind of logic with them. Sure, right now for one single attack it’s probably fine, but if this were to scale, and the sword might have to do different things, we want this to be a separate item. This is a pretty standard rule for programming, we don’t need or want everything to be connected all of the time, or else you will most definitely run into problems.
For example, what if we wanted the sword to do something completely different? We would have to make a brand new animation including link for every thing the sword should do, we definitely don’t want that. Having the sword as a separate child object of our main character is the best way possible to handle logic.
WE WANT GANON NEXT, WHERES THE BOSS
Awesome work! Looks incredible. Fully agree with your assessment of chatgpt. It's an excellent tool for helping you understand stuff and assist you, not so good at actually making stuff. As an aside, is that vscode theme tailwind?
Exactly. I have tried to get it to make stuff and it actually wastes so much time becuase I have to fix a bunch of things it gets wrongs. Also that’s a great question I can’t even remember what that theme is called I set it so long ago
So glad I subscribed a whole ass year ago to get this in my feed
I hope it was worth the wait! I’m just getting started
DO POKEMON FIRE REDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😭😭😭😭
Who knows! That could be on the list
Well I just discovered a new channel
Hope you like it!
@@jespertrip17 I’ve just watched this and your Mario 3d video and you make some good quality content. I tried to create a video game once (with 0 experience) and while it was fun it began to be very frustrating quickly so I like how you managed to overcome the problems that you faced during the making of your projects. And man that must’ve taken so much time
Yea these are so much work hahaha, I won't lie
Loving it so far ❤️
You really need to hurry up doing the part 2 I really like your editing!
Hoping part 2 comes out faster than part 1!
I don't know but i think it's satisfyng to see level building 11:46 Sorry if my english is not very good!
This should be a real Nintendo project.
THIS IS THE REAL SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD
Love this video man. I come back and watch it regularly xD
Cool! I think Donkey Kong country in 3d will be a excellent recreation. Nice job man
That was actually what I had in mind for the one after I am finished with Zelda!
This is really good. If you are to make another voxel remake like this, though, I'd recommend using a different technique for voxel creation. Instead of making it from scratch or even molding it out, you should layer the side and front-facing sprites on top of one another and make them overlap before adding cubes onto that. This gives you a good reference for what you're making, and I totally didn't steal this technique from CodyCantEatThis.
If you see the beginning of the video I actually tried this and it does not work lol
@@jespertrip17 I meant moreso overlapping the 2 sprites, but damn
*no exaggeration effect for every word you say at the start of the video *no effect every 5 seconds *pretty calm paced voice *understandable explanation of process *everything is easy to see PERFECT
Hey! Thanks so much!
This is the remake of Super Mario 3D World That we all needed
Seeing mario kill a banzai bill with a fireflower is hilarous.
