Join on Zoom for A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas performed by James Navé
“A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Dylan Thomas.
If you have open time this coming Wednesday, December 18, 5-6 pm Eastern time, join me for my annual performance of A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas on Zoom (us02web.zoom.us/j/85715685768). It's free. Join me and bring your friends: www.jamesnave.com.
“A Child’s Christmas in Wales” has been part of my Christmas tradition since 1991. It all began in a Greensboro, NC theater parking lot, where I recited it to a friend while waiting for the movie Fried Green Tomatoes to start. “A Child's Christmas in Wales” will take you into a simpler time of wonder, mischief, and joy. The language is beautiful. Join me and bring your friends: www.jamesnave.com.

An Exquisite Corpse (so named by the Surrealists) is a “found poem” made up of disconnected parts, but we prefer to call it the Exquisite Storm. Each writer in our Saturday Prompt of the Week session offered one line from the 10-minute piece they generated. The title “I Will Take You” comes from the first line spoken by Genevia Hendry I will take you to the front pew and then the grave of your ...

The Unknown Citizen by W.H. Auden performed by James Navé

Years ago, when I first read The Unknown Citizen by W.H. Auden, I was impressed by the notion that one could live an entire life yet remain unknown-not just to their neighbors, but even to their own family. I appreciate how this poem portrays a life so "spectacularly well-behaved" that the state official giving the eulogy knows nothing of how the Unknown Citizen lived. The idea of the state as ...
The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe performed by James Navé
Переглядів 7521 день тому
You probably know The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe from your school days. Most people immediately think of the word "Nevermore" when the poem is mentioned. Of course, "Nevermore" is the refrain the raven repeats throughout the poem, starting with the bird introducing itself as "Nevermore." Like other single-name celebrities, this raven is the most famous raven of them all. And yet, "Nevermore" is n...

Writing Prompt of the Week, October 19, 2024: melted stoplight
Thanks so much for this delightful invitation. Unfortunately, I missed the 18th but just listening to the invitation brought the biggest smile to my face. Joyful wishes to you this season. I may be living in the Triangle (which I actually like) but my heart is still in AVL. Especially now in it's struggle to rebuild.
I saw what we built for the first time, but we built this ages ago. How did you not know? It dawned on me, the intensity seeing for the first time. It's only like creating a child until you see the life from inside your existence. There is nothing like it. I saw what we built for the first time, but we built this ages ago. How did you not know? It dawned on me, the intensity seeing for the first time. It's only like creating a child until you see the life from inside your existence. There is nothing like when you lock eyes, sharing this love that I want to express, this love, this new creation on my chest. It's waking up for the first time, but the creation is seeing for the first time, said my mind, my heart will spring and drenched my being in himself that moment turned into a never ending light. All of our dreams come true. This little creation, I'm seeing God that moment, realizing sprung from within my daughter woke me up to my Creator from within
So glad you've found us! If you go to imaginativestorm.circle.so, you will find all the prompts for almost four years now (they're all here on UA-cam also) and a place to add what you wrote and join our community. (It's free.) We'd be happy to have you join us today (6 pm ET, link in footer at imaginativestorm.com) or any Saturday or Thursday.
oh I see you found the Circle! Great.
Thank you so much!

Listen to this, he really gets to the heart of song writing.
Love the setup! Well done. Perfect.
Nave! Brilliant Reading & Performance....the setting, the rhythmic & faint white lines of waves behind you like a reminder of time passing. Your pauses, shifted emphasis on words, and expressions on your face & in your body. I was mesmerized. Found myself leaning in, there in the room with You. It was truly a haunting 'Shakespearean' soliloquy. Thank You. I will never hear this poem or the word "Nevermore" the same again.
Thanks, Heloise. How is it in your life? Let's catch up sometime nave@imaginativestorm.com. Would love to hear from you. Glad you liked the Raven!
hooray!
Really enjoyed this ❤ Your mom is a special spirit! Thanks for sharing 🙏

Good thing I brought an umbrella and Kleenex.
Thank you Terra for your light 🙏
we give thanks and praise, may the soul of Terra Dyer ascend in peace !
So surreal!

Really enjoyed this episode ❤ I think The Bug would be a great children’s book. Sometime perhaps you can help me understand what makes Lonesome Pine Special a poem. I enjoyed listening to it so I looked it up. I can see the way the sentences break looks like a poem but there must be more to it.
👍🏻
The story of the poet who got a 30 was so exciting! I want to go to a Poetry Slam. Thank you for your show😊

This one got a lot of giggles.

glad I participated!
Thanks, regards!!!
Extravagancy, loneliness, abandonment...perhaps, thanks, lovely...
Nina Franoszek is a national treasure. I always loved her roles in her earlier films and as someone who plays games, her best role was General Engel from Wolfenstein. She nailed it.
Who knew I could have fun writing? What a delight! Creative, supportive, encouraging community.
