Early Access videos for games, keeping you up to date I make other videos about games that interest me.
Cities Skylines 2 is 14 months old | State of the game now
Over a year later and still this game has problems and missing features. I didn't mention how the game has no bikes or bike lanes after all this time. Another thing I didn't mention is the crashing. This game crashed four times today while I was recording. Put simply this is not the state Cities Skylines 2 should be in 1+ year later.

First time making it to endless mode in Balatro
Переглядів 719 годин тому
There were numerous time when I thought this run was going to sink but it kept going. I haven't played much Balatro lately but it felt good to get a run like this. I don't get runs like this often so I had to put this out there and share :)
Elden Ring is not hard, a rant
Переглядів 65114 днів тому
I personally don't like Elden Ring that much. and I'm less forgiving of it's flaws of which there are many. However those things are beyond what I rant about here. Posting this is cathartic for me so I don't care how this video does. Probably no one will watch it anyway right? Oh and one more thing: the open world design of ER hurts more than it helps. This is just like, my opinion man. Stream ...
Starship Troopers Extermination and why it's rough out here for the roguenecks
Переглядів 8 тис.14 днів тому
It's entirely possible that this game can bounce back but they have lost of a lot of players for various reasons. Optimizations must be implemented and more content but getting the game running smoothly is top priority. I stream and play whatever games I want on Fridays, 6 or 7pm EST: twitch.tv/onlyspencer
Is the sun setting for Ubisoft?

This topic has been on my mind for a long time. This video is cathartic for me to make. I've been wanting to talk about Ubisoft in general but didn't want to make this a deep dive, 1 hour long video. I feel like I've gotten everything out that I want to say so thank you for watching the whole thing. The demo is solid for The King is Watching and I'm looking forward to the full game. It seems like there will be plenty more content and challenges when it releases.

Judero - A handmade game that you should check out

Bodycam Early Access - six month's later, how's it going?
Переглядів 3,1 тис.2 місяці тому
Bodycam has a lot of work to do. While they have added more content to the game there are other issues with the game that have gone unaddressed. The biggest thing is the added microtransactions which have no place in an Early Access game. I hope they reverse course on this and focus on quality of life updates.
Dynasty Warriors Origins (Demo) - A step in the right direction?
Переглядів 2072 місяці тому
I should have mentioned this but the game ran smoothly for me on Steam. No hiccups, freezes or crashes. The game costs $70 USD which is steep. I'm not sure that price hike is justified so if you're not convinced about it I would advise holding off on buying. At least until you deem the price worth it or there is a discount.

I would have loved this if it was just a single player experience first. Like armories or jet force Gemini. Meh. Optional co-op or horde mode, sure. Shrug.
Is it just me or was that sniper rifle missing every shot lol
If you love the movie just play helldivers.
Greedy devs just try to lure people to buy the game but they dont give a f__k about the experience, game never recovered from the upgrade (greedy decision) from unreal 4 to unreal 5, they knew and didnt cared
Sinking? This game has never been afloat. Waste of time and money from Day 1. There is nothing to do and never has been.
Helldivers 2 pretty much guarantees this game's death which sucks in a way. The Starship Troopers inspiration to Helldivers is so obvious and adored by everyone. Seeing this is kind of like seeing an idol fall and the student who looked up to them, now succeeding them.
My game cratches every other game. It's so frustrating cause it's almost always at the end of the mission. It makes it very frustrating
I love the game, I do and it COULD go somewhere but the developers seem clueless right now... Let me put it this way, Squad 44 (formally Post Scriptum) came out in 2018, 6 years later here we are and the game is still- for a lot of people poorly optimized and this game came out last year and it's optimization has actually gotten worse since the switch to U5.
This game could be better if you had squad for a campaign mode.
I was playing this game a full year before Helldivers 2 came out, it ran better before they 'upgraded' to UE5. It ran decently enough my old FX 8350 could run it. I since upgraded to a newer ryzen 5 and it runs like dogwater now because of their update. Not to mention how grindy the game was and how they kept resetting class progress. By the time helldivers 2 came out that was that for this game. My friends jumped ship, we're all veterans of the first galactic war and one of us preordered helldivers for us all, the rest is a democratic history.
Lmao I thought this had died already
So sad cause I supported this game so hard
Yeah for years I’ve always played EDF Earth defense force. Remember seeing the old Xbox box art at the store seeing that helmet broken with some insect appendage with the green backround “Earth defense force invent Armageddon” think it was. I never did pick it up but it caught my interests. Like zombie games tho I did love slaughter fest of games. Later I did pick up the earlier version 4.1 of EDF and it became timeless coop fun for me and my brother. Brought that whole throwback stereotypical Japanese soldier in anime where they come out by the dozen with a basic assault rifle to shoot big monsters or Godzilla type creature but had new classes and goofy weapons on it. Over the years EDF became the staple of starship troopers basically. 😂 So I thought it was too late to make a starship troopers game. But when this game finally came out boy did I know it would die off soon especially when I knew helldivers 2 in third person would be coming around the same time also. I loved the first helldivers and the new Edf 2025 even that iron rain version with better graphics. I thought no way starship troopers would be better than edf recipe and deliver. But I was genuinely suprized how well the game looked and handles and the generous team size and building features. Or camp setup stuff. It honestly looked perfect for a starship game and the enemies. However I knew this game would not last. Coming in this late with other big releases. Trying to stand out where others are years in the making perfecting what they already did. Yeah no shot this game would last along time. Felt bad for it
dickrode the IP to hype and market, unoptimized slop i'm never buying, even if ever on a hefty sale.
I would love to play endlessly, but they need to fix the crashes, and the endless goal of the Galactic Front needs to move beyond a matchmaking system that drastically increases your matchmaking time, the player base is just too small to support that
it's one of those games that doesn't look good enough to deserve it's bad preformance, it also feels really bad to play i mean the guns have the same recoil as in squad, it's to much for a horde shooter like this, i should be satisfying to play and it's not , i don't want to mount myself to the gound in a mini fortress just to hit some targets.
At this point the game hasn't received any major orders or performance updates for months. With top player count on pc being 500 im starting to think it might just be abandoned.
Dude just look at the armor, looks horrible and the neck is over the helmet lmao. 1 min in and i can tell the game is trash.
I do get that vibe check too, its so different now. Its also hard to communicate with people too. I can't often talk since my throat hurts all the time, but when I do go on voice comms its often silent. The gameplay loops is starting to get boring too and I wasn't the biggest fan of Galactic Front.
Side missions are definitely way too far from where the base is.
Despite the change from UE4 TO UE5, the game was already a buggy, clunky, cheapish feeling game. Every movie or show based game seems to absolutely blow it completely and crash and burn hard as hell. It's sad, but it's the trend I tend to notice because there's always an intense level of neglect, or it becomes a crazy cashgrab.
ue5 and its consequences to human kind
Game was great in beta but like always these devs MUST switch to the new unreal engine and it screws them.
I stopped playing this game is because I couldn't find anyone to yell and scream at the bugs like scared kids, and it doesn't work properly
The game was way better in early access before they nerfed speed stims
This game have potential but the gamedevs make it dirty
This looks really good! I appreciate how it's described as a 90s era RTS. Based on "base building" type RTS games (basically SC2 style) from the 90s and early 2000s (command and conquer, AOE, empire earth, SC, warcraft, etc...). Anyway it looks super fun, I'm about to play the Demo and I'm kinda stoked! I'll report back here.
Alright, I played a skirmish in the demo and got my ass handed to me. I'm still learning what is what so I know I can turn that around. It was really enjoyable!
I made a promise with casper van dien from dublin comic con, sadly this game i was going to buy but dying out
I love this game. I still love it even in the mess that it is. But playing it is such a mixed bag. Sometimes it runs fine and I'm able to enjoy it. Sometimes it will straight freeze for a few seconds. And even worse, there are some toxic companies out there (don't even get me started on the company system). The meta base building "strat" is just an exploit. Just last week I was TK'd for base building and then teabagged. Then I was met with a threat that they have a whole company in the lobby so I better listen to them. I really hope they manage to fix the issues because the game is fun when it works but right now my hopes are low.
That sounds horrible that companies would treat you like that. It was super chill when the game first came out in EA.
just drown, I love it. Ubisoft has "known best" for awhile and it has caught up with them.
i remembered the beta version where we actually had alot of fun with everyone role playing as starship troopers / sergeant / hell even someone doing voice of Space marines....maybe some deep rock somewhere in there but it was 1 hell of a match and it really enjoyable despite the repetitive loop gameplay now? yeah like you said, it soooooo empty, it like im playing with bots and the optimization is a huuuuggggeee turn off for me. i have no problem running others game during 2024 release but damn.....a game of this caliber? i have to set everything to LOW and i still have froze and frame rate dropped.
One of the reasons I think the game died is the first few updates made the game boring. The first early access build was fun even with the limited content and the hardest difficulty felt like a challenge. The next update made it too easy and all the updates after that just made the game feel easy and boring. Ive hopped back into it and it feels better but the community isn’t there anymore and I have not heard a single player use there mic so you don’t even have proper team play
Sad to hear. This game has way more appeal to me then helldivers 2, especially after the whole sony debacle. Hopefully it will be in a better place by the time I jump in.
i just dont even see how it was a debacle. Guess no has played madden, diablo, witcher? multiplayer on a-rpg games? They all sign in thing. Spoiled brats.
@@Baxwbakwalanuksiwe It was a giant nothing-burger of an issue. People are always eager to join in on a hate-train even if it doesnt affect them in any way, shape or form. Having to make a new account for new games is almost par for course these days.
It's morally correct to hate corporations @@anonymous-m9p-c9f
Sadly ST:E is hitting a low of like... 200 concurrent players, HD2 is regularly at 50-60K at a time, and Sony is beginning to walk back the PSN thing. I love HD2, it's too bad that ST:E had a perfect storm of unlucky timing and awful performance.
Offworld wouldn't know optimization if it hit them in the face. I've played both Squad and Starship Troopers Extermination and both games are not optimized at all
That and they'll leave fundamental issue with game design in the game, taking forever and never fix it, while gobbling up tencent money.
Around Carnage update, this game still had a chance... but I lost hope when 1.0 released. It's clear what direction they took. It should remain multi-only PC exclusive without microtransactions or Casper Van Den eating all the money, and last map is horrible... as well as Agni Prime ...and don't get me started on Lava or Ice Warriors. They did not even bother to add Hopper flying bugs or under-barrel modes. Some ST mods for Arma III or maybe Squad (if I remember correctly) give more authentic representation and vibe. Solution to keep it going - OPTIMIZATION, AUTHENTICITY with the setting and CONTENT from the movie (first one, lol) drop last two maps to for special rare events... plain empty rocky desert would be more interesting, remove Lava and Ice Drones and Warriors, add flying bugs as an environmental threat attacking isolated units, fix BUGS.
On Xbox its so bad, I've been praying everyday that they make the game playable but I go into the reviews and you can check everyday and therell be a review with the horrible statement "Game Crashes Frequently, Lost all progress, No point in playing" and its so sad that this problem has lasted on Xbox for MONTHS now
I'm sorry to hear that for the console players. rip
Series X it runs fine ngl
Performance is what got me to stop playing. The lag, constant frame drops, rubber banding, disappearing enemies, etc etc just wears you down over time. As much as I wanted to love and put a ton of time into this game, I just couldn't. Performance is so important, the fact it's been overlooked for SO long with the laundry-list of issues is just absurd. I had some great memories when it first launched, and that's when the game ran the best it had in its lifespan. It's been downhill every since, especially with the stupid class overhaul they did.
I loved playing this in early access.... until I picked up Helldivers 2. Honestly, I'm never coming back- Helldivers is everything this game wanted to be.
Game doesn't play like cod and boo.
Of course, it has a decent gameplay loop marred by optimization issues. CoD is a dumpster fire that's just the same slop over, and over again.
Used to love the game....in beta. Since the release, i can't even PLAY it, even after upgrading my cpu, it's just an unstable mess, when i join a game even with the lowest setting, it crashes after 5 minutes at best... Too bad, they had a good core concept, but optimization sucks, and the devs seem to have given up entirely.
They really messed up when "upgrading" to UE5. So much fun and the most I've had interactions with random people over mic. It had so much soul.
When Helldivers 2 came out it outdid Starship Troopers: Ex by all metrics. ST:E has so many issues and poor game play decisions I don't think it's worth salvaging. The player base has dwindled to almost nothing. The FPS and performance has always been abysmal. Sad I sunk money into this game when it was in early access game. Another prime example why early access games should be free to play with an option to buy in with a founder's pack.
Alright guys chop chop👏 time to go back to playing starship troopers on Squad again😀
Welp, Helldiving time.
I played this game on launch and then went over to helldivers and I think most players probably did as well
You beat me to it! My friend bought this for me about a month ago. Didn’t even try it out, never got around to it. Then I got hell divers 2 weeks ago, the rest is history lol
Opposite for me.
Same... the only thing this game has is the official IP rights, and that really means squat when it comes to actually crafting a fun experience. Helldivers is everything this game wanted to be and more.
@@kirklowe5608how’s that going for you?
Do you think the game would've benefited from a traditional release and have optimization and bug fixes implemented before people got their hands on it en masse?
I'm not sure what you mean by traditional release but they should have focused on optimization first, whether they put the game in early access or not. Make sure it runs and then they can start ticking off boxes for content.
@only_spencer yeah thats pretty much what i meant.
They shouldn't have switched from unreal 4 to 5 several months after they released on steam. Game performance never recovered after that.
@honeybadger6275 ah didn't know that. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Early Access dooms most games
re-enlisting/ prestige IMO should unlock stuff so its worth doing .... like perk/gadget/utility/ SLOTS & let u shar gear u unlocked on other classes so u can make a real custom class & weps masteries should have more lvls so u can unlock more tweaks for them
The views are starting go up by a lot so I want to jump in to say that I know Ubisoft probably cannot turn things around. I don't hate this company and I don't hope they fail like a lot of people seem to. I'm convinced that there are good people, programmers, artists, QA testers who want to do a good job. Unfortunately they are not in a position to make those big sweeping decisions about the direction of the company. They could "just quit" but it's not that simple. I myself have a full time job, which I take no pleasure in and would like to get out of ASAP, and I'm certain for some of those Ubisoft employee's it's a pay check. That's what they're there for. They know the company isn't doing well, that there is dysfunction. Goodness I know all about THAT. No one is interested in making lateral moves into something different but not better so they stick it out. Trying to do there best work but knowing it's futile much of the time. It would be great for things to improve at Ubisoft. If the house has to come down then fine but why tear the house down because you don't like the kitchen? I want these people to have a happy, healthy place to work. I want them to be able to make great games. Why would I not want that?
Sadly performance issues haven't improved as much
when your resolution not in place, try Alt + Entering once or twice to see if it fixes itself
This game had potential I was going to buy it in support but after this cash grab na I will pass
I think they made this game as a prototype, made just to get feedback and enough money to get started , then they will either make a whole nother game , or fully revamp the game , at the moment its testing out different features and trying to make money this is also why its early acces . So yeah at the moment i wouldnt recomend buying but if you really want it you can take a gamble and hope the devs are gonna revamp the game instead of making a new one
The window issue comes from having 2 different displays and your primary display Is the smaller screen. Go to display settings for windows and change your primary monitor to the larger monitor and it will fix that small window when loading the game
The primary display is the larger one already. That's not an issue.
@only_spencer do you extend or duplicate your monitors? My buddy had this issue your describing and extending the displays and making sure the larger one is primary seemed to fix the issue hasn't had any issues since. Oh well I tried. Good luck in getting it fixed I know how frustrating it can be when things like this happen.
It's an extended display not duplicated. This isn't the only game that does this either. I'll have to get another monitor at the same resolution. I've been wanting that.
