VRV IV Emergency Function and A1P Board - Compressors
So, you troubleshot a Daikin VRV IV and found the primary compressor has failed and is keeping the unit from operating. The Pros are here to show you how to access Emergency Mode on the A1P board, providing a clear, step-by-step guide to restore functionality and get the system back up and running smoothly.
After your faults are cleared:
Press & Hold the "Mode” button for 5 seconds or so.
* This brings you to Setting Mode 2, displayed as "2.00"
Press & Hold the “Set” button til the counter hits "38".
* "38" is the selection to lock out the primary compressor. "39" would lock out the sub compressor.
** If you miss "38", keep holding the button down; after reaching "99" the count restarts at 1.
Press "Return" once, the display will flash "0"
* Now you're in Emergency Mode and can begin to lock out your primary compressor.
Press the "Set" button, the display will now read "1"
* You've now SELECTED the primary compressor, but haven't told the board to do anything yet.
Press "Return" 2x
* Pressing "Return" once will lock your selection in, pressing a second time will activate the setting.
Your primary compressor is now locked out! Your condenser can run off the sub-compressor.
DON'T LEAVE THE UNIT IN EMERGENCY MODE FOR TOO LONG! The added stress of running a single compressor can cause early failure.
Get your repair scheduled and parts ordered.
Once you DO complete the repairs, don't forget to restore function to your primary compressor-
Hold "Mode" for 5 seconds for so til "2.00" displays.
Press "Set" until you get to "2.38"
Press "Return" and the display should read "1".
* This means the mode is still active.
Press "Set" until the display reads "0"
Press "Return" 2x to restore operation to the Primary compressor.

Good video, there are a few drawbacks to the H10- just remember to stay away from wet coils, as the air pump will suck moisture into the heated diode and cause problems, making you have to pull the sensor out and dry it out with nitrogen. Another issue is the sensors tend to wear out and need replacing after a lot of use. The little leak calibration bottle will leak out and evaporate quickly in warm climates. I use infrared leak detectors nowadays as you don't need to worry about moisture and the sensors last a very long time. I have over 40 years of experience in the trade and started out using the H 10 and many techs do agree that its a great unit.
