So Griffin plays what, 4+ minutes Improv? The unknown plays 4+ minutes of Improv, and Sal eats them both up by playing 7 plus minutes of Improv. Sal is the man. The ones who think Roman is the best must be his relatives or his fellow countryman. I'm not saying he can't play, but neither he nor Griffin is Sal Nestico! Sal is the most underrated Sax Musician of all time in the universe.
quantity and quality are not the same. Also, music at a mastery level is very subjective. Just because YOU prefer one over the other two, doesn't mean said someone 'eats them both up'. They are all awesome. Order of solo's is usually an indication of who the band thinks is the most 'exciting' player. .......generally speaking.
Yea, I still like Griffin....just quit the off timing clapping when others are playing. And Roman was the best all round. Tone, playing within the structure, etc.
on UA-cam, video and sound are allways off (nie synchron). Griffin is not clapping with poor timing. You can see it on all UA-cams with the rest of the best musicians.
Johnny Griffin....very inconsiderate...a distraction from a Legend Sax Player-Nistico. Hell, he (Griffin)can't even keep time.....you can't hold a candle to Nistico and you know it!
Ok listen boomer. If someone played giant steps and billies bounce after another you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, even if that person was shoving giant steps up your asshole and force fed you an F blues. Nuff said.
Splish Splash That drummer. Later for that
Can the drummer shutup?
Sal killin´ it!
Griffin has to be the center of attention...clapping and mugging... a bit bush league coming from such a master.
Find the drummer another gig
Who's that Drummer ? The Guys are really cooking !
Remember this night at the "Allotria" very well because I was sitting in the audience
war das der Abend wo Roman Schwaller die Rose gegessen hat? (ernstgemeinte Frage, ich bin mir ziehmlich sicher, dass ich auch da war)
3 phenomenal players..
Great performance ! Bravo !
Tenor summit ;)

Yes for sure 👌

Seriously uncopesetic rhythm section.
Johnny´s clapping is messing with everybody! But I love him!! Plus he plays the melody on witch this tune is built on " The Masquarade Is Over"
thanks.
This tune is built on Confirmation except for last four measures of bridge
OK der Pianist und Griffin bringens einigermaßen!
hey Thomas Krause, krass Dich hier zu treffen! 🎷🎸😊
Furchtbar!
Der Bassist gehört geprügelt!
Mist von überkanditelten Möchtegern! Leeres Gedudel!

I used to like Griffin

Lol
yea!!! awesome to see Sal on a guardala!
Roman Schwaller is new to me. I adore him, too.
Roman Schwaller simply blowed away the others so clean so much melody in that tenor
Actually I do not know anyone who can blow away Nistico or griffin. Jazz history speaks for them...
Nonsense.
Fabulous! Johnny Griffin and Sal Nistico were two of my favorite tenor players as I was starting out back in the 60"s.
