What amp are you running through?

I had this model when I lived in Boston. I lent it to someone and I never got it back! I still miss it. It was my first electric guitar.

My most prized possession is a 1984 mapleglo 370. I bought it new for the huge price of $700.00. Also, as a side note, I got to see REM in October of 1983 at the Salem (Massachusetts) theater. After the show, out behind the theater, my friend and I got talking to the guy from the opening act, "Let's Active". Unbeknownst to me at the time, the guy I was talking to was Mitch Easter, who produced the Murmur album. He was loading both bands personal gear into a white Ford van. Super nice guy. I had the Murmur album in my car so I had him sign it and then REM came out and signed my album. They were heading into Boston to see "The Neats". Mike Mills was driving the van. Soon cool!

Rickenbacker has a unique sound, the top bands in the 60' used them,(Beatles,Birds.)

As for prices for old guitars, consider in 1972 my old man insisted I have a Harmony Buck Owens for about $85 It needed heavy gauge strings and picks to respond at all, and then it sounded like heavily coated plywood cuz it is. Now I have seen many massively restored pieces going for over $2000. By he way, this vid does little more than demonstrate his sound effects. Even Danelectros can be made to sound ok these days.

I had the same guitar. The neck was never straight, no mattered how many times you adjusted it.

Nobody played this bass better than Arthur barrow from frank zappa. Exact same model arthur had. And he could play the shit out of that fretless.. I was wondering, is this the only year they made the fretless. Arthur used A pick and his fingers. Sound good with both.

That bass is Alembic league gorgeous ! I've noticed over the last two decades that the Mockingbird has NO boundaries. Jazz guys love them just as much as Blackie Lawless. It's an amazing bass that is like the Anti-Alembic Alembic.

Nice playing and demo- ...i really listen to the tone and from what I am watching- ...guitar sounds like it is choked off by the narrow nut in conjunction with the neck profile- I had a '72 that was the same way- seems like they got better in '76 ...my '78 special had more mass to the back neck profile - and the T-tops sounded like they were in the higher sonic league- my old '65 was the best- with the original single p-90 and 1 11/16 nut- now they are virtually un-obtainable for the working class music lover

My 1965 airline resoglass is having trouble staying in tune even after installing locking tuners and a setup any advice?

The string length is longer on this EKO than the Hofner. The EKO body is more hollow. That might account for more ring. The EKO is "aged" dryer wood. The Hofner has a little more punch on the low end maybe because of it being less aged. Both sound excellent. Very catchy melody!!
