JustPearlyThings: is virality success online? a video essay
In this video I discuss the controversial manosphere content creator Hannah Pearl Davis known online as Pearl or Just Pearly Things. I ponder whether Pearl's viral reach can be called "success" as her content is repetitive, simplistic, and not indicative of her own unique perspectives.

My Disdain for Shea Butter Twitter | Using Colorism, Featurism, & Texturism To Explain Career Woes
Weird.
The only thing I wish is that the show wasn’t super racist
As in the stupid “white fragility episode” where they were absolutely dogging on their friend for literally no reason
And the colourism episode like there’s no reason they should be teaching kids to be racist
Fax
You talk both way too quietly and way too fast for anyone to understand ! How is your channel doing kinda good ???
Cuz I want this information but I your delivery is triggering me to almost unsubscribe
i’m white and susie was fasho my fav character she was the older sister i always wanted
I met my (Black, Gay) bff online 15 years ago. Have had interactions with his friends, all grown adults. Is there something in the Black community where the word “ugly” is tossed around a lot?
Hahaha, these frothing keyboard commandos have NO LIFE!!! Picturing a bare mattress and a bag of Doritos.
I realized late in life, 100% of hate/criticism is a show of jealousy. Just let them blather on, no need to defend yourself.
0:01
So true!!
It's odd how much they care about someone's lashes or nails. I think a lot of it is rage-baiting but some of it is wanting to be represented in a certain way.. when they should just represent themselves and their “type” of person and stop worrying about others
As Black, White, straight or lesbian women, we do not want trans-women of any hue in our sports, bathrooms or beds.
Unpopular opinion: some parts of a culture cam be trashy or tacky and it's best to leave them behind.
I agree but not all incels are evil
Fax
Yeah , that is true !! Understatement actually!!
Me to it’s wild n effed up it’s kinda like saying your not feminine bc your black

He literally dated tla a man the lawyer in ATL
Complaining about ugly shirts in an ugly shirt is craaaaazy lol
I love my shirt. 😏🥱
FFG (2yearslater) is nuts totally obsessed!! How can you all listen to her. She has been extremely cruel. Regardless what you think of anyone she goes after.
They're probably right about that .003% chance. Once anybody reads all those red flags they should be skipping right on past. I'm sure this person sits alone at the dinner table wondering why they're still alone. It's you. You come off as a cold, unapproachable, unsatisfiable, high-maintenance diva. Your bio leaves a sour taste in our mouths.
It is a horrible human trait amongst many others
What I’m saying about him is that he’s absolutely ignorant. Hateful, absolutely not. But ignorant, definitely.
He lost his mother!!!!!!!!
And so do a lot of people. Doesn’t mean they get to be hateful and toxic
@@apopofculture Are both of your parents still alive? What happened to empathy? All I hear is judgments about how he should act or feel. The fact that he is gay man and the love he received from his mother was magnificent when the world can be cruel is a painful.
@@M.thepoet this man has wished death on people & said the most vile and hateful things imaginable. That’s not erased because his mother died. Yes I have empathy that his mother passed away, but he himself exhibits no empathy for others. Just look up “Qaadir Howard bootlegs” and watch his toxicity at work. He’s no saint. He’s actually quite the opposite. I love that his mother supported him at a time when many parents weren’t supportive, and it’s sad she passed away, but Qaadir’s been an unhinged a-hole for years, so I’m not crying no tears for him.
@@M.thepoetbaby girl you sound like qaadir lol
@@taelrmade I haven’t been a baby nor a girl in a long while.
i actually like Mr. Enter but everytime he says anything about another culture i want to slam my head into a wall till I pass out
I fell love with Qaadir after watching the Walmart video. I reference it every day ❤❤
Number one is not an ultimatum, it's a challenge. An ultimatum would be "If she doesn't lose X pounds by Y date, I will do Z consequences to her."
It is an ultimatum because the consequence was no more reactions.
is this seriously a reaction channel about reaction channels?! The snake is gobbling its own tail for real.
no. I clearly say in the intro it’s a commentary channel. This is just one of the topics i discussed.
Blair doesn't make anti trans videos she makes don't give being trans false stigma videos, Pearl shits on hoes not all women, Candace doesn't believe in segregation BLM wants segregation it's not anti black. Do you even know what you are talking about?
Not sure why all these comments don’t get the point I liked this video you make good points!
You and 3 other people ...
Just pearly things is nothing than the modern day talk show host Who is indeed a sellout pick me.. and being a millennial just like you I'm sure you remember the likes of Sally Jessie Ricky lake Jenny Jones before there was social media and podcast those were our podcasts . And going viral equals ratings however there is no lucrative Money to be gained Out of going viral And that is the difference between millennials Gen z and the boomers who kept us glued to Jerry Springer. People With talk shows like Oprah were actually MAKING MONEY. Podcasters are NOT. They vent and give unmonetized controversy. That's all going viral really is. There's nothing new under the sun keep creating content because it's something you love to do And it's A passion don't look out for the Spotlight and to Go viral in 20 years it won't Matter I Promise You podcasts will be a thing of the past just like Talk shows
This video is so underrated! I totally agree with you. He was so harsh to Candy even during her funeral which he admitted to being bitter because of the way she carried herself. I think his character lacked in some areas but I think he does represent a lot of gay men who put down trans women out of their own insecurity. I think ultimately the finale tied in a lot of the show, gave a resolution to his character. All the times he was bitter and selfish he had a final act of compassion towards Ricky (someone he abused) which doesn’t excuse it, but giving Ricky a second chance while taking the fall. I did hate how he heated up at Damon who exposed him, like you knew you were in the wrong. It was too late to apologize to Candy but all the times he disrespected Blanca (someone who wanted the best for him during his addiction) he took her for granted a lot of the time. But I think they did this to show how much Blanca puts up with and how patient she is. Pray tended to make a lot of things about himself, a “I’ve had it rough and I’m good what’s your excuse” type of reaction. I do think his redemption was shoe horned in though like he opened up when he realized he was going to die then given a second chance. But idk, great video though!
Thanks so much for this comment and watching this video! You really did a good job at going into the ins and outs of his character. I agree with what you said. Pray definitely isn’t meant to be seen as a “good” character but I definitely go back and forth about how they wrote him. It felt like they were trying to make him a martyr but didn’t do the best job redeeming him before his passing, so it felt like his final act of sacrifice was a little ruined by remembering how he treated the other characters when he was alive and even after he passed with him being mean to Electra after he passed in his final statement.
He said some people didn’t like her cause she was kind of a marry Sue
Watched her first few vids and after that realized shes so hateful and weird 😳 just checked back in for the first time in YEARS and shes just as big as she was back then and even more hateful than ever lmao yikes
Yeah I don't know where he's coming from. While Susie isn't my favorite Rugrats character, I think she's a great character. Heck, I have a babysitting job on the side, and many kids I watch, whether or not they're black, love Susie, both original Rugrats and reboot Rugrats.
Why don’t you support Qaadir anymore? What’s tea?
Girl u made some point but not really
First of all rue21 is great stop hating pls
I was on bigo and the entire app is Toxic. It's the only platform where the streamers think their gonna get gifts for talking shit too and banning everyone that comes into their room.
Leave Qaadir alone and get a LIFE!
Her biggest mistake was rolling it out in amazon! Amazon sabotaged her! I preordered the album and it NEVER CAME. Then they put it a word message leaving everyone waiting for it. So of course the sales were down. But her albums one of the best this year PERIOD!
Her album fire yall full of sht!
I was an early watcher of Quaadir's content for YEARS. His was the first live stream chat I used to interact in and his McDonald's job application storytime is legendarily funny. As an o.g. UA-cam content creator, I wondered why he wasn't able to capitalize on his popularity and become as big as Kid Fury, Funky Dineva, or even Joanne Prada aka Joanne the Scammer. I know he spent time in L.A. and was cast in a horror film. I had stopped watching and lost track after a while though, so wasn't aware of the drama and problematic rhetoric. Great deep dive!
That microphone definitely from the 80s
Ngl, as a sensitive person, I can get hurt about not being spoken to for an excessive period of time/updated on life events.
Only blacks use bigo and they’re all toxic lmao
I enjoyed it especially for the first solo gospel album. I would love a second gospel album from her
Throughout the show, I never related to him because I enamored with Angel and Candy because those two ladies were my figures who understood me and were fighting their selves, both of them were fierce because they had to learn to protect to themselves but never have I ever, *ever* seen them abuse their loved ones, (Lulu to Candy, Papi and Beto to Angel) Candy was brutal yet compassionate and devoted to her house that was the direction of her death, Angel ran away from Papi and Beto once since she was still recovering from her addiction and this can be explained further that she was scared to take care of a child because she knows she might hurt him! But Pray? Pray was so harsh, resentful and insulting to Candy no matter how much she tried to show her confidence. She even had to use drugs to appease the categories' so much she fainted from stress, till her death, she has never gotten a single fucking apology and I hate it so much. I love all the actors but God I never liked Pray at all.
U called it, a flop
