Welcome to my channel. I really appreciate you stopping by. I have been having some health issues which have precluded me from uploading many videos. However I've just decided to ignore the issues and get back to work. So I'm hoping you will find new content on a fairly regular basis.
I was once accused of not having a focus, that there was Kitfox flying, guitar playing, and some old dead Willys vehicles, along with some workshop stuff. I had to answer that these were things that interest me, not that I'm any good at them.
Sadly for you, my valued and under-appreciated subscribers, this will not change, with the exception that I can no longer fly, so the beloved Kitfox went to another home, then an incident, then off to a new home for a rebuild I believe.
New music coming soon.
And this winter I'll be rebuilding some components of the Willys Pickup truck and I'm hoping to lure somebody into helping with the wiring of the Willys Wagon
Thanks for watching.

Just fell in love with this song first moment I heard it. Sorry it's such a crappy version, but I'm working on it.

It has been quite some time since I have considered doing anything in the workshop or creating a video. To my loyal subscribers I apologize, but I have been busy working on a bucket list item of becoming a musician again or possibly for the first time. I have wanted for years to be able to cast aluminum parts and like all of my projects I have made a start but I have not completed. Today I had ...
1951 Willys Pickup Winter Project

My '51 Willys pick up is actually a 1978 K5 Blazer with a small block 350. I did not build this truck and I'm really not very good at this car guy thing. Because of some challenges I needed to sell an airplane that I was blessed to have but I managed to keep the hangar which is slowly becoming my automotive repair shop. The starter has never operated properly since I have owned the truck over 1...
That Shit Ain't Funny, Cover, The Brothers Comatose

I discovered The Brothers Comatose and AJ Lee when they covered Harvest Moon and was mightily impressed. This particular attempt at me doing their song was at an open mic at Downpour Brewing in Kingston, Washington near enough to my home. My version needs a ton of work of course, and I would prefer an actual human being providing the harmonies rather than electronics but still, I had fun.

Owen Campbell has created this wonderful song. He plays it in D with a slide guitar so I am butchering it but nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoy it.

I was sitting there on my barstool working out this song. The stool was creaking like crazy, but it came out kind of OK so here it is. This is a fantastic song by The Brothers Comatose.

Brandy Ehrenheim and myself playing at what is the last open mic night of a well loved bar in Port Orchard Washington. We have not even seen each other for, as best we could guess, fifteen years, yet it seemed like we've been doing this all along. A fun evening.

My pathetic attempts to solve the problem that was most clearly explained by this old Tony in his video about over center devices. My tool bags won't stay open. So, it's very difficult to find what you're looking for. This video is about my attempts to solve that problem. My apologies Tony, but I love your videos.

A New Old Tractor and my '51 Willys Pickup
Looks like you've been busy.
Sounds good.
Well done.
Look's there's enough to keep you busy for awhile.
I'm trying to work up to "vaguely motivated".
Wish I'd known you playing so close. We'd have come out.
Hoping to be there next Thursday evening don't know for sure, but planning on it. Look forward to seeing you.
No butcher job here. Very well done. Really cool song
Sweet! Okay learned it on guitar and bass. Prob play bass on this one. Might work on slide later.
Well done! The creaky stool sessions. Very nice my friend.
Thank you so much. I have a slightly more aggressive version coming too but maybe I'll wait for an hour or so
Really inspiring and creative space you have there! Pretty cool! Great music experiment with the gadgets too. Neat,
Those are very kind words and I really appreciate that. Yeah, gadgets are kind of OK, but I would really prefer a human being offering harmonies. But there's certainly a place on my paddleboard for a harmonizer. And my dictation app always spells pedal board as paddleboard. C'est la vie
Sweet! I've got that 3rd for future! :) Rog
Pretty cool man!
You both sound great. Have a great time with the basement sessions. Looking forward to seeing you both again soon!
Cool cover. I've never been brave enough to post covers. Nice work.
Thank you very much. I think I was mostly just playing with the harmonizer at the time
Great. What was the occasion?
I read the description, after posting.
@alrtgy9642 that's perfectly fine. You're one of the few people who actually watched my videos so I'm very very grateful
very nice. I hope all went well with the hip replacement!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Hip replacement went reasonably well; I still have some challenges ahead, but I have no reason to complain. Sorry for the lack of new content, but I hope to address that soon.
Keep it up old timer we respectful youngin mechanics love to see it.
Thank you young'un. 'Preciate that.
BTW interesting handle.
Well I know this is an old video but just checking you want to get rid of that old Ford rusted thing let me know that's the year I was born I'm looking for an old Ford like that thank you
Joel, my apologies for not replying until now. It seems I'm checking my comments less and less these days. The year you were born, that's a common desire for us Car guys. That's prevalent in my world too. I'll let you know if I find one of the year that you were born, and thanks for watching my videos.
And my dictation spelled your name wrong, another apology coming.
@@JeremyWilson thank you
@@JeremyWilson lol yer good bud
Get off your lazy keister pop the hood and scratch on them points with a points file then she"ll fire right up
We sold the truck to my son-in-law three years ago. I happily would scratch on the points if the truck were on my property any longer. And by the way that's something that I did more than once. It was a great truck, great steel, a rotten bed, but a bulletproof engine and an exhaust manifold that you could not find for love or money. So ask me about welding cast-iron.
Nice playing and nice guitar sound again my friend!🎸Keep it up!!
Thank you for the kind words. Sadly my afflictions have gotten in the way of my ability to play guitar, so I am left with uploading old video.
ow, I'm very sorry for your afflictions :/ I have a lot of respect for older people!!@@JeremyWilson 🙏 I really enjoyed your performance in this video and I really like that Gibson!!🎸
@@RickHardcore again, very kind words, much appreciated
Awesome find ! I love the Willy’s trucks I am building a 55 wagon now. She looks in great shape. Are you going to take her home ?
Sorry for the delayed reply. I own a Wagon and a pickup so I'm just going to leave this one alone. Thanks for watching.
Brief update, the owner of all these trucks having passed away, they've been sold to one gentleman on Camano Island in Northwest Washington state. I have his phone number and after checking with him would be willing to share it with you if you'd like.
Are you a BW Stevenson fan?
Unaware. Will have to do my research.
@@JeremyWilson We'll have to get together, and talk about great music of the past. Seems like overnight we had great FM rock, then it all went to disco. I was in TX, and we all had switch to C&W. That was back when there was still Western in C&W.
I get no prize for a four month delay and replying to a comment and an invitation to get together to play music. And the words "I apologize "seem inadequate. There was never any country in my world growing up to be Frank, is my musical mother rather looked down her nose at it and I sort of adopted that position myself, to my regret in adulthood. But now, I have room for some country in my world. I'm not claiming to be a cowboy, but I do have the hat and boots.
@@JeremyWilson Not a problem.
I feel your pain.
Someone's gonna have to explain it to me I'm not sure what it means My baby's feelin' funny in the morning She's having trouble getting into her jeans Her waist-line seems to be expanding Although she never feels like eating a thing I guess we'll reach some understanding When we see what the future will bring. Ready or not , one of favorite JB songs.
If by explanation you mean how this video is proceeding or was made then I'll give you a little insight. I played the first intro bar to show you that it was me doing it. It was recorded on the Looper at my feet which then plays it back as long as I want. On the computer screen is a piece of software that lets me record music. I have a digital interface between my guitar equipment and my computer. All of the stuff is very mysterious to me, but it's a ton of fun to play with. The last component is the podcasting software that I am using. Someday when I'm courageous enough I'll try and do a live broadcast, and in each case with each piece of software I am so far behind the curve it's embarrassing, but it's still fun.
Well done. One for my favorite artist.
Thank you so much. He is also one of my most favorite artists. In particular I like his late stuff that he's publishing now on UA-cam. Barricades to Heaven! Black and White!
Nice Willys body. Running gear sounds practical. Thanks for sharing.
Michael thank you for that and I appreciate you watching my videos. I have been wanting for years to dig into this truck, but I had or have not the right skills. I've got all the right tools, and I'm working on developing the skills. When I do and I think I'm getting closer, it's going to be a frame off restoration of this hot rod not an original Willys, with rebuilding the small block 350 part of the enterprise. I think I'm going to just try to refurbish what's there rather than upgrade dramatically, although you never know.
I had a 1950 Willy's pickup about 30 years ago. I used it everyday for wood cutting and barbed wire fence materials. It was a good pickup.
My apologies for not replying earlier I missed your comment. Yes indeed they are great pick up
Good deal.
Beautiful
Thank you very much. I appreciate you watching the videos
Great graphics. Nice touch.
Have begun experimenting a little bit with graphics for another project. Thank you for watching the videos as always
Good to see you back at it again.
Hey, thanks! Slow progress.
Well done.
Thank you so much for that. I'm clumsy but working on it.
Could you speak just a little lower ?
Yes, my apologies for the lousy production values. I have recently not been paying any attention to this work, and I will be better at it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, though in my heart of hearts I already knew it. And thank you for watching the videos.
Could be a 262?
David, my sincere apologies for not replying. Apparently, I still don't understand the technology. That truck has been moved from Western Washington to eastern Washington, and will ultimately be rebuilt with a Cummins diesel by our son. He is however busy raising a family and holding down the kind of job that travels a lot. I think you are however right and it was a 262. Thanks so much for watching the videos.
Not much rust considering age and just normal paint. Maybe good steel?
David, long story spanning the last couple of years. Short version is it over in eastern Washington near Spokane with our son, who wants to put a Cummins diesel in it, but has way too many other projects first in line. So it's still gone to a good home, it's still in the family, but it's going to be a few years. Short answer to your question is "yes, it's good steel" and thank you very much for subscribing and watching the videos
That is a sacrilege brother putting a diesel engine in a truck from the 60s!
@ringokidd387 you'll have to talk to my stepson about that since he now owns it. Thanks for watching the videos.
Look's like you're staying busy.
Doing what I can, preparing a bit for winter. Needed a functional garden tractor as our property has a steep driveway and multiple tiers out back where various sheds and tents need visiting with a yard cart. Thanks again for watching.
I need to do that to mine.
This poor abused tractor has sat outside for about 5 to 8 winters in the Pacific Northwest. Long overdue for some service and cleaning
I got mine when we bought the house in Poulsbo. The PO would be disappointed, if he knew it sat out in the weather.
Well, I've still got mine. Might as well use them.
You're my most loyal viewer/subscriber. I apologize for failing to reply in a timely manner. It's not as if I'm swamped with thousands of comments or hundreds of viewers or even tens of viewers or even hands full of comments. So I'll do my best the next time I upload something that you comment on. Thanks again for watching.
@@JeremyWilson Not a problem. I probably the worst about follow through. You've got nothing on me.
With all that effort on the ashtray, are you going to take up smoking?
Not in the short term, no, but thank you for asking. One can never predict what happens in the long run. If I remove the cigarette lighter and turn it into a USB outlet, then the ashtray may come in handy for stashing cords or something. Haven't thought it through.
You're taking ashtray cleaning to a whole nother level.
Wait for the rebuilding, you'll laugh I'm guessing.
@@JeremyWilson Probably do the same myself.
You got this
Thanks. Appreciate the support. We shall see...
Mine's still in the box, since the move. But I did go with the air over hydraulic jack. All things in time, I guess.
Yeah I know that feeling well. Somethings in my world that I thought would be done in a year or still not done in a decade
" I think it would a whole lot simpler than what I'm doing" Never spoke those words before.
Never fear, I will find a way to make it much more complicated and expensive. Thank you again for watching.
Ah, the old broken tap saga. It's not easy drilling hardened steel, even with carbide.
Moving along.
Interesting technique.
Good deal.
