This is my DZ302 clone motor. Eagle forged crank, Scat forged rods, ICON forged 11.5:1 pistons, AFR Enforcer heads, Scorpion rockers, Offenhauser intake, Demon 98 carbs. Made 392hp at 7600rpm. 1929 Chevy that its going in weighs 1800lbs.

Adding a copper finish to raw sheetmetal using Copper Sulfate.

media blasted headlight covers so they are raw steel, and then using copper sulfate to add a copper finish..

Sure, it's a Comp Cams solid flat tappet cam part number CL12-678-4. Since the engine has been in the car I've taken it to 8k numerous times without issue.
@@mechanicjack that’s very cool of you. I’m a block short of building one of these the last 3 blocks has cracks in the main webbing. But I’ve got everything to go on it. And please post video of the hot rod! I don’t see many old chevys being built. I’m building a 1930 Tudor Chevy myself but I’ve been focusing on getting the drive train done before working on the chassis. It’s all stock original atm with the stovebolt 6 in it. Do you have Instagram I can shoot you a follow.

It won't stick, even acid etching the part well it just wipes off. You first need to do a nickel strike or even zinc
Or when it's dry just spray it with a clear coat to protect it and keep it from rusting.
@@mechanicjack may as well use copper colored spray paint. Nickel plating is cheap and easy
Spray paint? I think you are missing the point, and the look of the final product.
@@mechanicjack clearcoat over copper ion dust is nothing more than copper spray paint, the copper has no adhesion to the steel it's only held to it by encapsulation, scratch the clearcoat and off comes the copper. I've done this for some of my early art pieces and it works for something that doesn't get handled much, but for a utilitarian purpose such as your headlight bucket it won't last past the first washing.
@@jonnyrox116 well not sure what clear coat you used, but automotive clear works just fine and has held up to rain, car washing, and every day driving just fine.

No, it will adhere by itself. Then just dry it and clear coat over it.

JHF old school buggy. 22re engine T18/T19 trans Dana 300 tcase with 4:1 D60 front, 35 spline chromos w/ctms and spool, 6.17 Rear is D60 center with 14bolt outters and ARB, 6.17 4 link front and rear w/ Branik links SwayAway 2.0 air shocks 14" 37" trep stickies on raceline beadlocks.
