In this video we show the sound to expect from the Earthworks DM17 and DM20 microphones on toms. I did notice our enclosure kills a lot of sustain o the drums, but I was really impressed with how evenly matched both of these mics are and the clarity of sound out of them. Damn, and I even prefer the dynamics over the condensers. Way more in your face and also more bottom end in my opinion. Time to get those
@@JeffreyMiddelveld both of these are condensers… surprised me when the DM17s weren’t working till I turned phantom power on
52A most dynamics to me 😊
Hmmm not sure if I agree but it is a great mic!
@adamlikestorock difficult to tell the difference.
Awesome comparison, it’s much appreciated! Been thinking of pulling the trigger on a DM17. The DM20 sounds best to me here, but not sure it’s worth the price difference from the DM17.
We already had the DM20s before we got the DM17s. I think I would just get the DM17s if I was buying today.
@ Right on, thank you for the recommendation! I already have the DM6 and it’s the best kick mic I’ve ever used… Earthworks for the win!
Thanks for this! Any plans for a snare comparison with these?
I think you found it :)
@ Yep, right after I commented… hahaha. I’ve been waiting for some more videos of the DM17, there’s hardly any that I’ve come across. Nice work!
Straight to the point, excellent, thanks.
That's how I like to roll.
Thank you for this video Adam ! Can you tell me more about this kick clamp who hold the DM6 ? Thank you, Best regards
I need to make a video about that because it is awesome and a game changer. Thank you @ !
Sennheiser 835 on your voice, or se v7
You just save my life with this video, thank you!
You're welcome! Glad I could help!
Can this be used (in mono mode) for guitars as well as vo cal mic?
Where are the Neumann😢 Nice video tho
Dpa is neumann, with better lowend (less proximity) and less digital top end
Do you have to be this close to the capsule?
No. I’d say backed off a little more would be even better.
Thank you !
Recommended for bass and acoustic guitars. What about electric guitars, is this the one I should buy? Thanks for a great video!
Should we use two 500 outputs or a single 500 to power the HX Stomp with a CS6? Reading conflicting reports. Thanks!!
the reflections were not bad to begin with
I would think that if someone wanted to have a backup dedicated small power supply in their bag for an HX Stomp just in case the factory one died, the original tiny One Stop with the adapters mentioned would work as well, yes? The original is rated at 1700 mA.. Strange that there isn't a simple 2.5mm adapter that is not polarity switching available from TrueTone.
great🌟
Thanks for sharing dude ! 👍👍😎🤘🎸
I was going to get rid of my sE until I heard this video that made me realize that there is Is a major difference using it! Thx! sound good brother!
Can this be used for a Nord keyboard which is used for live playing?
Absolutely
En las entradas Thru puedes conectar dos monitores? Gracias de antemano por tu respuesta, saludos y gracias por el contenido.
Under a minute, straight to the point? Yes, you rock
That's how I like to roll
I can confirm that this cable arrangement works for powering an HX Stomp with a Truetone CS12 PS power supply, using the green (CL6) and red (CYR) cables provided by Truetone, though I felt the video was a little rushed in it's explanation.
You can power an hx stomp with a one spot with the right adapter if not powering any other pedals.
Thank you!
Hi there! Were I to use just one channel (say the left channel) is that signal automatically set on the left side of the stereo field? or does it come through as totally mono?
I bought the D1 for mono stuff, but this will still likely work as a mono in out since you would only be using one in and out, if it comes out left of the stereo spectrum, you should be able to change the mixer track you're routing into to a mono channel rather than a stereo one which will send the signal straight up the middle.
So if I buy a new cs7, it’ll have everything I need to power a stomp xl?
I don't know if the CS7 includes the line 6 barrel and the polarity but it should have those included
Thanks. I actually just got ahold of someone from someone on truetone CS. They said if i use the MC2 cable, which uses two power ports, and attach it like you showed to the red polarity reversal and green barrel, that will work also. The CS guy said you can run it on one power point, like you showed, and he even does it that way. He said using two ports with the mc2 will run it a little cooler. Thanks for the video
@@Moist_Moose_Hey I am planning on getting a cs7 and wanted to know if you prefer it than the cs6. I am planning on getting a new pier supply for my pod go
Nice work!
Outstanding video, very nice work!
If you used 2 different mono DI boxes same brand and everything would that be the same as running with a DI with stereo?
Correct. You do spend just a little bit more to get two of the mono boxes over one of these though.
@@adamlikestorock Thanks man appreciate it! My church has 2 indivual Radial J48 1-channel Active 48v Direct Box's. I was thinking to buy my own personal stero ones but if they technically operate the same there shouldn't be a need
Yes - but If you used two Radial ProD1s you'd spend about $50 more than the price of the ProD2.
Hi bro! Whats the difference w/ your canvas stereo? Can u explain to us the signal chain of you hx stomp to your di box and how it works thanks in advance! More videos like this!
Man that’s a tough one. Subscribe to my channel and I will hopefully have a video on it soon. Need to make sure I explain it correctly because it’s a fairly technical question. Long story short canvas sounds better
Nice. Is it normal for the CS6 to be kinda hot to touch after like 15mins of using it?
Definitely. This happens on my cs12 as well
@@adamlikestorock thaks for the reply.
If it's any solace, my Pedal Power 2 Plus from Voodoo Labs also warms up a shit ton. My MXR powerbrick used to as well. I think it's probably just a power supply thing.
Hey, why the reversing polarity cable? Is your power supply output center positive or the HX stomp? Thanks
The stomp needs center negative and the true tones are center negative, but the green line 6 barrel adapter has polarity swap designed for the older pedals like the dl4. So you have to invert power polarity before plugging it into the green adapter, effectively canceling out both polarity swaps.
I didn’t realize that the green barrel adapter had polarity swap! Thanks man!
I appreciate the video. I have my hxs running off the 500mA 9v with the red and green combo just fine. Everywhere says the hxs needs 900-1000mA, the cs is probably putting out what 700mA? Any issues running it since you posted? Shouldn't we still eventually get or make the current doubling cable and run it off both 500mA 9v to be safe?!
@@shawnmarko7131 been running it this way with the cs12 and no doubler for 2 years. Running two mini boards like this for 2 or 2 months now no issues.
Those cs units must be putting out from the 9v 500mA ports like 750-1000mA. I know they say they're underrated. Idk I solder so may make the dang current doubler cable anyway.
Eventide PowerMini is about 1/4 the size of the CS6. You need a current doubler but it can handle HX stomp and is super tiny. It only leaves 2 other outputs, but they are very high powered and you can power multiples. I still prefer the CS6, but if space is a factor on a mini board, there are a couple options much smaller.
Oh wow I wasn’t familiar with that one. I’ll have to get one next time I’m building a new mini board
Thx. Cioks makes it. Never saw it either, tiny.
👍👍 good job bro, you are the only 1 on UA-cam that actually showed me what that slide was. Thank you & God Bless

Where'd you get that pickguard
It came stock on it. You can get similar ones on ebay.
what is the setting of time factor ?
splendid! together with playing music in this website- did you perform likewise at clubs a lot?? it could be entertaining for you to capture a music-collab in conjunction with some other musicians you can try to employ Bandhub for it
