Tucson Subbuteo Soccer Club
United States
Приєднався 16 лют 2020
Tucson Subbuteo Soccer Club aims to promote the table top, flicking soccer game in the Old Pueblo and now, Worldwide via UA-cam! We play for fun with some light competition. We play weekly at our local brewery. Between beers, shaky hands, and antiquated streaming gear, please forgive our mistakes, poor play, bad calls, and any stream hiccups!
Also, the brewery plays music, so no audio during streams.

How I Teach Subbuteo
I demo Subbuteo a *lot* at game conventions, gatherings, and at the local BlackRock Brewery where we play. I needed a method to quickly teach the basics of the game to passersby. This is the technique I use. It's not a full how-to-play, but gets players engaged and flicking quickly, with a good understanding of the rules in about 5-7 minutes.

Old School Practice / Multi-cam Test, March 21, 2020

Test of multi-camera setup and some old school figure practice. No scoring, no timer, just flicking and camera changes. So PK's and shots on goal camera at the end of the video.
Question............. If the attacking player gets off 3 quik hits before the defense can move does the defense still get the 3 moves from tose 3 hits?
Nice to see your subbuteo video,is it popular in the US? Here in Malta it is very popular still... although it is very competitive and we play with modern players, formations and keepers
Can you play on your own
Yes you can. There are a few solo leagues on facebook. I played in the International Solo Subbuteo League awhile back and some of my solo matches are on the channel.
I've got my own subbuteo league in cali...its a hybrid Epl/champions league with teams from all over the world including sri lanka which is where I'm originally from. Good tutorial.✌
Where in Cali are you located?
Great video ,just starting to take it up again since the late 70s, nice and simple and easy to follow, looking forward to watching any other videos
I really like the pool analogy. So very true! Great video. Just started my own ISSL-like league this week with NASL clubs (24).
Are you located in San Diego?
Thanks that was useful.
Good to see somebody playing Subbuteo the way it's meant to be played, using actual football formations instead of the FISTF-style 8-10 man shooting line wall formation. Games played that way are BORING and very uncreative. One suggestion: I'd recommend just sticking with the top-down whole pitch view for the entire match. Gives far better coverage of the action. I like the improvised weighted cardboard goalkeepers. My idea is to use D-cell batteries.
Thanks for the note. We play both types of Subbuteo in the club and hope to showcase both styles in videos.
Looks fantastic. The only thing that's missing is sound.
Mrs was watching HGTV in the next room, I figured folks didn't want to hear Property Bros while I was playing.
Love the commentary with Ian Darke and John Harkes. Nice!
Do you guys still have games played at Blackrock Brewery?
We do! Or at least we will, once the current unpleasantness has passed.
I live over in California, Orange County. I became aware of your league from Garage Soccer article from last year. I have family in Tucson. I was hoping to try and start something similar, here in the OC as micro breweries are very prevalent in my area. There’s also a good amount of regular traditional pubs. Plus soccer in general is big here, obviously. I too am pulling for things to eventually get back to a “safe &normal” level. I’d love to keep in touch with you. 😁👌

What did you use as a goaltenders. Please let me know. Ben from Montreal, Canada
They are folded/glued cardboard with a coin taped in the bottom. I got the idea from Table Top Year's channel. ua-cam.com/video/YhBuhJohunM/v-deo.html
