Pork belly in half the time
During football weekend I want to watch the game and not have to spend hours cooking. The dilemma is I love pork belly burn ends, so I devised a method to make these in less than an hour rather than four hours so I can enjoy the game with friends and family and still have my favorite snack.

Wish I had seen this first. Followed some other trimming videos (I haven't really trimmed a pork butt at all in the past). Those vids were way too aggressive (at least for me) and I'm not trying to do a competition anyway lol! Ended up basically butchering the shoulder and it had almost flopped into two big pieces. Ended up just removing the shoulder bone part, freezing for later, and am going to cook the rest. Went from about 10 lbs to I'm guessing <5. Good news is, I don't have to wake up so early and I think it'll come out really good, but kinda wish I hadn't wasted so much meat (meat that I could have eaten this week for leftovers--it's in the freezer!).

Try patting the bacon grease off early for an even crispier piece of bacon and reduced calories. Bacon is still not an all the time food if you remove the extra grease though, still got plenty of sodium and if cured, all the issues that come with that too.

Yup but even so called "de-veined" shrimp will still have to be cleaned because the underside also has a line of black. I can't stand that so i hold them open with one hand and run my knife along the belly the same way. using the edge to scrape it out under running water. It takes some practice to hold the body flat with one hand using fingers and thumb, but when you got it, it goes easy. the bigger prawns are easier, but smaller ones you can make a cross cut to flatten it a bit. just don't cut all the way through. Also the pre-cooked shrimp you don't see the underbelly black vein because the blanching bleaches it. Its still there.

I can't stand that line of black on the back side! I always take it out too. Takes forever, but I don't want it in there!

Fail from the get go. Curl the shrimp then use the outside side (left side) of your right forefinger as a rest and grab all the legs with your right thumb and squeeze and pull. All of the legs come off and since the back is no longer attached to the legs it will fall off.
