I just bought this brand new kayak from Kaku kayaks called the Zulu, During the video i have a buddy with the same Kaku Zulu kayak. We demonstrate our own rigging we do on our kayaks. We also take the kayak through its paces. I am impressed with its stability and simplicity plus the Larry chair which helps to stand and see farther.

Sweet rig. Ive been looking at them myself. I fish shallow in the galveston area. When loaded down. How much does the rear sit in the water? I plan on running a trolling motor as well and was wondering, just how shallow i can run the motor.
@@whoisfishinpanda1572 the rear sits pretty even. I use a 20 pound torqeedo motor held on with a bracket in the back plus my power pole and the Zulu sits level. The more I use this kayak the more I like it. The Larry chair is the star of the show. The kayak also tracks well and cuts through waves. I didn’t notice that was hull slap, but I knew that when I bought it. For the price of kayaks now a days this kayak is very reasonable. Tight and thank you for watching Godbless.

Thanks for the video Oscar. Two questions if/when you have a moment. 1) Since you didn't opt for the pedal drive, is there a reason you chose the Zulu over the Voodoo? 2) Why kind of speed do you think you're getting? Similar to the Outback? A little faster? Seems to cut through the water nicely.
@@texasnp211 The bow of the Zulu handles white caps & choppy water better than the Vodoo. The Zulu with a motor added to the back runs shallower and is faster than the Outback. Especially when you buy the center pod cover which reduces drag. I’ve got to run a few more speed tests on the Zulu to give you accurate number. I’ll do a separate video for that.
