The ultimate impact of health innovations depends not only on their effectiveness but also on their reach in the population and the extent to which they are adopted, implemented, and maintained over time. Despite substantial advances in health innovations, a research-to-practice gap remains, limiting our ability to improve health and quality of life. In response, The UTHealth Institute for Implementation Science was established to accelerate and improve the use of evidence to improve population health and to bridge the research-to-practice gap.
