G 148 Mobile Saw on a Late 1940s Gibson Model D Tractor
This is a silent film demonstrating the use of a saw blade on a 1940s Gibson Model D Tractor. I found it interesting to watch and wanted to share it with others.

Those tractors are worthless. Steering sucks and uncomfortable as hell.
How about my name is Joaquín from Uruguay, I am trying to restore a 1947-48 Gibson Wisconsin tractor, I would like to know if you can give me information to obtain or adapt a carburetor for this tractor. Greetings and thank you very much for your attention
Can you tell me Lory how you found this unit and what are you after Sir ???? Thanks
I had one years ago! Had fun with it but they turn over easily.

I just picked up an early a. It has a 10 inch wheelbase streach. They done a nice job
This is a real nice machine attachment. I just hope one day I will be able to find a Gibson tractor with a wood saw blade attachment. I really like the old films doing things around the farm. Nice work fella too.
Great little tractor
This tractor must of had the larger Wisconsin engine since it really moves along working fresh ground. What would you say this tractor is worth Sir ??? Nice work too. VF
Adorei o trator, tem como o senhor fazer um video c o detalhe da alavanca da pa?parabens
Lascou 🤣
Молодец! Отличная работа.
I grew up on a Super D. There were three Gibsons in the neighborhood. a Model D, Super D and a Super D2. Between the three I believe most of the implements made for it were represented, If you needed one you didn't have, it was time to borrow. An interesting piece of personal history I learned just last night is that when I worked for an elevator company in Seattle, my boss at the time owned the building we were in. I was told Pullman cars were built in it, had a big overhead crane still in place. In doing a little research on the Gibson company, found out this building was the Seattle Factory. Although it was damaged in the Nisqually earthquake in 2001, it was repaired and still stands to this day. 2910-1st ave.s. Seattle, WA
I need to get wider rear rims for mine ( Ser# L 4 252 ) it has 16” x 5” on it now. Ignition key just like mine 😃
The ring and pinion is chewed up in mine. Is there a way to get replacement parts?
I would look for a parts tractor.

People had no fear then
It's a t-90 not a t-96
Gibson used either a GM transmission or a T-96. In this case it was a T-96.
So, you still have stumps to deal with.
Wow that is something that I’ve never seen before and all from a 6hp tractor, like the one I have... Mine has a steering wheel and multiple attachments... acquired a few years ago or so. Horse trading labor and being lucky to be in the right place at the right time...
Hey Lori, It's Mike. We met at the hospital last week. Love the video! That's a really neat old tractor you have there and was nice to see it plowing. I'll bet your wife had a fit when she saw what you did to her front lawn!
I have a 47 gibson in good condition.. Anyone know how to find what they are worth?
Granddaddy of lawn tractors
chasebh89, Wheel horse made the first ride on lawn mower called a ride away junior also know as an rj. Production of the rj's began in the mid 50's.
I really like these old mini tractors. You put a heck of a lot of work into this one. It looked great.
Fantastic! I grew up on a farm and we had two of them. One identical to yours and another one that had an air compressor and tank on it. We had a fruit farm and they were great little work horses. My brothers and I still reminisce. I believe the transmission from a Studebaker. You couldn't kill those Motors. They ran on forever
I could really use this now. Thanks for sharing
Great video, thanks.
What a find! Thanks for sharing, Lory.
It was a scary piece of machinery.
Hi did the one that you just have on Craigslist sell? Thanks. Stuart
Nice work guys! What area are you located in?
Thank you Sir! It's great to see these Gibson tractors at work.
nice lil keeper, wouldn't want to work her back into the ground. If wish's were fish's who wouldn't love this lil Gal.Thanks for sharing.BonZ
Have one un-restored, considering buying yours as motivation. Let me know if it sells. Might be a month or two till I have time off work so I can make if up to view and possibly purchase. I have original plow and disc setup for mine. Thanks for the video. trm34t Oregon
I do still have it as of 7-4-14, I look forward to you contacting me and coming up and I can show you my other tractors (my keepers!)
