The first time I heard this song I was like 10 years old and loved it, and even though I come back to it every now and then, I never really put attention to the lyrics; I was addicted to videogames for a long time, a very irresponsible person that couldn't keep a promise, always anxious at work because I didn't do the things I had to, always slacked, took small loans from apps without the intention of paying back even tho I could without it affecting my finances. Now I'm 29 and it's been 2 months since I started regaining my sovereignty and taking control over everything in my power, assuming responsibility and making any wrongs right asap and now the opening lines hit differently, It does take time to heal the wounds you make along the way, being blind doesn't mean you can't see again (not literally), read, regain control and live the life you were meant to live.
