GaGas on the Go
A fun short doc I made for my capstone class at Chatham University. I decided to make it about The Tamburitzans, a folk performance group made up of college students in Pittsburgh that travel the country on weekends to perform a two hour show celebrating cultures from all over the world. I've been capturing little fun videos through a vlog I call "GaGas on the Go" and through my camcorder from my past 4 years in the group.

The great thing about Viny Records are masterpiece, entertaining, love for the song artists,a lasting piece as memorabilia .or even a treasure. Vinyl record is craftmanship put together in one.
Clouns, that thing with built in speakers can´t be taken seriously. I don´t know how they keep a straight face, maybe It´s the money they cashed claiming this thing has bottom end.....com on. Things people do for money....maybe get a job ?
It's that scent of the cardboard. The internet and DVDs has nothing like it.
This is so sweet. Thank you.
I love records, I still remember the beautiful record player and the speakers that my dad screwed in a beautiful cedar wood. He loves to play blues, jazz, bossa nova... unforgettable how we filled the house with joy, peace when listening the music. I also remember that one Christmas Santa Claus brought my sister Brasilia and me a record player made of Play Mobil to learn to used it and several records that we played incessantly😍‼️
How sweet is your Nonna ❤🙏‼️
Yummy 😍😍
Beautiful ❤
Sofia, thanks to share an amazing experience with Tamburitzans ❤
8track tapes is best no download fees

thank you for taking the time to watch!
Man, I love Tom. intergenerational link to the past! :)
The best!
Because they like music.
amazing video! as a new collector, it combines so many things i love! Music, history, art and collecting. You own that piece of music and history. it defines you!
Yes! exactly. Thank you!
Lovely dancer and film maker! Go chica chica!!!
My first album I bought was hall and oats I'm more of an 80's guy but I like some of the older ones as well as some newer ones I also just got some new records Genesis and reo speedwagon they just came out I didn't have a big collection of records yet I didn't make a lot of money but I got a new job so that will help me with getting more records
Be careful buying used records. I actually like cleaner sounding records. Some used ones are shocking. Buyer beware
The sound on Qobuz streaming is better than CD quality. Far above Spotify. I collect records too, but on the go, Qobuz all the way.
I stumbled upon collecting records on accident. My mom has Alzheimer’s, and I’ve been looking thru old family belongings to try and preserve the past. I found my parents old records and I haven’t looked back. It almost feels like I’m about to play a part of my family history. Holding a record my dad held when he was a teen kind of reconnects me. He’s a huge music guy and it makes me feel a little closer playing these records. And dude, the separation of sound is very apparent. The streaming quality is just too flat.
And the artwork is like no other.
wow, it is amazing how something as simple as a record can make you feel that special connection with your father. Thank you for watching and for sharing that story.
I just prefer to own my music then rent it
Hi Sofía! Loved your video. I'm going to show it to my daughters. Who knows? It might wake something up inside of them.
For me personally, it spins.
Brickwall remastering / the loudness wars is one of the big reasons. LPs aren't technically capable of the kind compression that CDs are, so even with new pressings, LPs are the safer option (though there are a lot of issues with new LPs). Also, these days people know to ask 20-40€ for a lot of 80s CDs that have the original dynamics intact, so LP prices are starting to feel more reasonable.
Sorry to bust your bubble 💬 but sound is not warm. Sound does not generate heat. This is a poor choice of words.
I absolutely love Vinyl Records!! ❤️ they just connect you to the past and they just feel real, like the artist is right there with you singing their songs to you and only for you!!!!😊
I love how honest you are I wish I was like you so free and open and hard working. Lately I've been working hard on my job and not my passion. With this economy as hard as I work on my job I can't keep up with sales. So imagine my passion... records have helped me remain sane. Especially because I got my first one 3 days ago
The thing i like about vinyl is it is a very physical thing you have to get up out of your chair to change sides and it encourages you to listen to the whole album unlike digital files where you can pick and choose with a swipe i never seem to appreciate the artist listening to an mp3 than i do listening to it on vinyl it's a far better interaction between you and the artist through vinyl, the huge art work with vinyl is awesome too especially the gatefold albums where you open it up and you are completely immersed into the artists world and of that time period that's what i really enjoy about records.
Great reasons! thanks for sharing :)
This video slaps fr
THANK U
amazing can't believe you did this all without an appendix #girlpower #sostrong
but srsly I LOVE IT
hahhaa
Sofia this is fantastic !
thanks Merle!
THIS IS UNREAL
yooooo
just like some people are into classic cars, not for utility, quality, and science, just nostalgia. in term of sound quality, vinyl is completely horrible -- extremely distorted and noisy. To actually enjoy music itself, go digital.
i like it tho
Why do people still play records? Because they know if they find a pristine copy of a great record, they can entertain themselves for an hour or so actually appreciatimg the music instead of streaming music as background noise.
yes!
Rick Sebak!!!!!!!
Is the man on the left playing candy crush between 3:25 and 3:56 ?
Brilliant!!!
wawawewa
OMG this literally brought me to tears!
why? they sound "good"!
Records existed all they way back to the late 19th century and they transcend generations of listeners. I can play 77s, 45s, 33s and 16s it is compatible unlike all the other formats I love the older stuff. And I can play it easily.
I collect Billy Vaugn, Andre Kostelantz, Lawerence Welk, Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. I am only 55 most of these are not on digital format.
I’m a record collector and having a physical copy is so special to me and makes me feel more connected with the artist and the music 😊
love to hear that!! I feel the same way, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment
I enjoy reading the album text and enjoying the album art while listening to the music. It’s also magical in a way. Makes you feel good.
Happy to hear that, thanks for sharing! Thanks for watching
@@SofiaCaloiero you’re welcome. We love scouring used stores for old rock, jazz, blues, folk rock, country. We just found out my girlfriend’s 1 year old nephew loves the music too 👍. It also helps to collect everyone in the family room and hang out together.
@@JamesJones-r8r Aww yes! Music brings people together.
